8/14:Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was back to his usual self on Monday night. After an odd-ball outing last week where he only lasted six innings and struck out a single batter, the three-time Cy Young winner pitched eight strong innings against the Giants. He gave up four hits, just a single run, and struck out nine batters while issuing zero walks. Vintage stuff from the magical lefty, who left the game with a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately, without Kenley Jansen to close the game, the Dodgers gave up four runs in the ninth and still lost 5-2. Kershaw appears to be over the nagging injuries that kept him out for brief periods earlier this season, dropping his numbers to a 2.47 ERA and 1.024 WHIP, with a 8.9 K/9 rate. If your league uses Wins as a stat, though, he's still only 5-5 on the season through 18 starts.--Devon Taylor - RotoBaller
