4 months agoChicago Cubs utility man Christopher Morel will not start for the third straight game on Thursday versus the Los Angeles Angels. The 23-year-old is losing his grip on a major-league roster spot with Cody Bellinger's return getting closer, although Patrick Wisdom hasn't hit much better lately. Morel's meteoric rise (nine homers over first 49 at-bats) has been marred by a 2-for-29 tailspin since May 24. The speedy right-hander hopes to get back in the lineup at some point during a weekend series with the San Francisco Giants. Fantasy managers in shallow leagues can let go of Morel while he's out of the team's favor, but the upside he once demonstrated means he should not be forgotten about on waivers.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBaller
