Chris Godwin 2022 Player Outlook: Late Season ACL Tear Caps His Fantasy Upside
3 years agoWhen healthy, Chris Godwin is an excellent wide receiver that functions as a target funnel out of the slot in Tampa Bay's offense. In two seasons with Tom Brady, Godwin averaged 105.5 targets, 81.5 receptions, 971.5 yards, and six touchdowns per season. However, Godwin suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 of the regular season, which is an injury that typically has a nine-month recovery process. Both Godwin and the team have emphasized that there is no hurry to get the veteran receiver back on the field, which makes his current ADP very difficult to process. Godwin is currently going off the board as pick 51 according to the NFBC, which is very rich for a player that is a strong candidate to begin the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. If Godwin's price doesn't come down as the summer continues, fantasy managers should be content pivoting to healthier options in his ADP range.
