Chris Conley 2020 Outlook: Don't Expect Another Career Year
5 years agoChris Conley set career highs in his first year in Jacksonville in targets (90), receptions (47), receiving yards (775), yards per catch (16.5) and yards per game (48.4) while also tying his career high of five touchdowns from the year before with KC. The former third-round pick in 2015 should be the favorite to remain in starting three-receiver sets alongside Dede Westbrook and D.J. Chark, but the addition of rookie Laviska Shenault Jr. could also threaten Conley's bottom line. The 27-year-old finished as the No. 42 fantasy wideout in half-point PPR leagues in 2019, just behind Diontae Johnson and ahead of Golden Tate. Don't forget that the Jags remain a run-first team with one of the least favorable QB situations in the NFL, so don't expect another career year from Conley. He's worth a flier as a WR4/5 type in deeper leagues, but there's not much upside here.
