5 months agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt allowed three earned runs, four hits and four walks with just two strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. He threw just 62 of his 94 pitches for strikes. His ERA jumped from 3.64 to 3.86 as a result of the shaky outing, and he has won just once in five outings in the month of June. Bassitt also went six innings back on June 2, but he has failed to hit the mark in each of his past four. Overall he is 4-3 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, but he remains useful only in AL-only leagues and some deeper mixed formats at this point. He'll take the ball next on Sunday in another road outing against the Los Angeles Angels.--Daniel E. Dobish - RotoBaller
