Celtics Signing Lamar Stevens As Bench Piece
2 months agoThe Boston Celtics are signing free-agent forward Lamar Stevens on a one-year contract. They also worked out T.J. Warren last month, but they appear to have settled on Stevens at this point in time. The 26-year-old is brought in to shore up Boston's frontcourt depth as a versatile defender and low-usage offensive player. Stevens averaged 5.3 points on 44.8% shooting and 3.3 rebounds in 62 games (25 starts) for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. The fourth-year forward will compete with Sam Hauser and Oshae Brissett for minutes off the Celtics bench, but may not see much run at all unless Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown were to need time off.
