Carlos Carrasco To Play Catch Thursday
3/16:Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (elbow) is feeling good and has been cleared to play light catch Thursday, according to pitching coach Mickey Callaway. Carrasco will then throw in a minor league or simulated game in a few days, barring setbacks. Before this injury, Carrasco was seen as a top-notch No. 2 fantasy starter, but elbow concerns at this bad time in camp could drop his price significantly. Injury aside, the right-hander was solid in 2016 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 9.23 K/9 in 25 starts (146 1/3 innings). Injuries shortened his season, though, and now durability concerns should be factored into his fantasy value. If he's healthy, he should still be very good, but there are signs starting to crop up that show the soon-to-be 30-year-old is starting to decline.
