Calvin Ridley 2024 Outlook: New Team but Keeping Momentum
7 months agoWide receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended for the 2022 season for violating the NFL's gambling policy, but he returned in good form last season. With 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns, Ridley was the WR27 in PPR formats on a per-game basis in 2023. However, Ridley left the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency this offseason for the rival Tennessee Titans. The Titans had a meager passing attack a season ago; they were 30th in pass attempts and 29th in passing yards. However, quarterback Will Levis is entering his second season and should continue to improve. Moreover, new head coach Brian Callahan has helped lead quality pass-first offenses in the past, including as Cincinnati's offensive coordinator during the past five years. The departure of running back Derrick Henry and the additions of Ridley and receiver Tyler Boyd suggest the team will radically reshape its offensive philosophy this season. Ridley has been going as the WR31 in fantasy drafts lately. This is a fair valuation, as Ridley will be competing with veteran DeAndre Hopkins for the team's WR1 role. However, with a new-look offense ready to roll, Ridley can meet or even exceed his solid production from last year.
