Brock Bowers 2024 Outlook: What Can Fantasy Players Expect From The Rookie In 2024?
7 months agoThe Las Vegas Raiders selected tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th overall pick in April's draft. It was a bit of a surprise given the team had just used a second-round pick on tight end Michael Mayer the previous year. Nonetheless, Bowers takes over as the clear TE1 for Las Vegas. While he is arguably the most talented tight end prospect to come out in recent years, things might be tough in 2024. The Raiders figure to have a run-oriented offense and Gardner Minshew or Aidan O'Connell as QB1 is less than ideal. There is also significant target competition with Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers in the mix. Put it all together, and it's hard to envision a highly productive rookie year for Bowers. He's a fantastic dynasty football investment. For redraft purposes though, we may need to brace for a tough rookie year. Fantasy gamers should not expect a Sam LaPorta-esque rookie breakout as the Raiders' ecosystem is not as friendly as Detroit's was last year. Managers who select Bowers should invest in an additional tight end to hedge against him struggling as a rookie. Bowers is talented, but he's going to need a lot to go his way to be a difference-maker in 2024.
