Brian Anderson 2019 Outlook: Home Park Tanks Minimal Value
6 years agoBrian Anderson was a pleasant real-life surprise in his 2018 rookie campaign but didn’t offer much in fantasy. He produced 3.4 fWAR in 156 games, which should earn him a starting role in 2019 for Miami. Yes, Miami. And therein lies the rub. Anderson hit .273 and scored 87 runs, which is fine but he only knocked in 65 runs with 11 homers and two steals. Yet with that lineup and park, those numbers represent somewhat of a ceiling for Anderson’s fantasy production. Steamer projects a .260/.335/.407 line with 13 HR, 53 RBI, and 3 SB. Unless you’re in a deep batting average league, you don’t want to spend a pick on Anderson, and his ADP of 273 reflects that.
