Breece Hall 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Primed To Make An Immediate Impact
3 years agoNew York Jets running back Breece Hall has emerged as the most coveted running back from this year's rookie class while becoming entrenched as the first overall selection in the majority of dynasty rookie drafts. Enthusiasm for Hall has been surging throughout the offseason after he stockpiled 3,941 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns during three years at Iowa State. He led all backs with 1,572 yards during 2020 while exceeding 100 yards in nine matchups. He also generated 100+ yards and 2+ touchdowns in seven games last season, while completing the year with 1,472 yards and 20 touchdowns. Hall also supplemented his rushing numbers by collecting 82 receptions and 734 receiving yards as a Cyclone. Hall's stock soared even further after he completed the 40-yard dash in 4.39 and registered a 40.0-inch vertical jump during the NFL Combine. The Jets traded up to seize Hall in Round 2 of April's NFL Draft (36th overall), which has infused him into an offense that distributed 95+ touches to three different backs during 2021. Hall should operate in a rotation with Michael Carter, despite his ability to function as an every-down back. However, Carter's involvement should not impede Hall from delivering RB2 production this season. Hall's favorable blend of size, vision, patience, and explosiveness should propel him to a substantial workload, while his one-cut running style should also accelerate his timeline toward securing a sizable role in Mike LaFleur's offensive scheme. That should incentivize fantasy managers to secure him at his current ADPs in dynasty start-up drafts (13/RB7), and best-ball leagues (35/RB17).
