4/20:Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Brad Brach notched his first save in the 2-1 win over the Reds on Wednesday. He pitched a clean ninth inning with one strikeout, needing only nine pitches. The big difference in his fastball and changeup velocities keeps hitters off balance (95 mph for the fastball and 87 mph with the changeup, on average), which has helped his ERA drop every year he’s been in the league. Last season, he held a 2.05 ERA and 1.04 WHIP, and with the way he’s pitching right now, it looks like he could replicate those impressive numbers. He currently has a 0.00 ERA and 0.57 WHIP, which he will not maintain, but he should not move too far from. As long as Zach Britton remains out, Brach will be a nice add for saves.--Ben Ruppert - RotoBaller
