Ben Roethlisberger 2018 Outlook: Another Top-10 Season Incoming?
6 years agoBen Roethlisberger is coming off another top-10 season among quarterbacks and seems destined to return there with the supporting cast around him... or is he?
He has the best wide receiver in the game in Antonio Brown and the best running back as well in Le'Veon Bell. Bell has an interesting situation surrounding him at the moment where he may be sitting out half of 2018 due to his current contract situation, which will allow Roethlisberger to throw the pigskin more than previously expected.
While it seems like the situation for Roethlisberger is great to return as a top-10 QB, it's important to look at the past and notice that last season is the only year in the past eight seasons that he finished in the top-10. He is a rough quarterback to start when the Steelers are on the road and should be viewed solely as a matchup dependent starter, especially if Bell is to miss multiple games.
He is getting up there in age and does tend to get injured for a few games a season, so those are some other issues to keep in mind when considering drafting the Steelers' quarterback.
