Anthony DeSclafani Fully Healthy; Expected To Anchor Big League Rotation
7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Anthony DeSclafani struggled through an injury-plagued 2017 season. He hurt his elbow during the spring this past year and wound up missing the entire 2017 season. This comes a year after he missed about half of the 2016 campaign with an oblique strain. DeSclafani, when healthy, is an extremely talented right-hander. When he was able to pitch in 2016, he performed well, posting a 9-5 record, 3.28 ERA, 4.07 SIERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts in 123 1/3 innings of work. The 27-year-old announced this past fall that he is fully healthy, which bodes well for his chances to open the 2018 season as a big part of the big league rotation. DeSclafani comes with plenty of injury risk, but he's extremely cheap in fantasy drafts and could be a steal if he's able to stay off the trainer's table and on the mound this upcoming season.
