2 years agoThe Angels have demoted right-handed pitcher Alex Meyer, recalling reliever Mike Morin in his place. Due to a unique July schedule the Angels will not need a fifth starter until July 29, likely making Meyer's stay in Triple-A a lengthy one. The 27-year-old has a healthy 3.74 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 55 1/3 innings, but his control issues have led to a 1.41 WHIP and a less flattering 4.01 FIP. Until Meyer learns to control the strike zone, he will be a streaming option at best. AL-only leagues should keep an eye on his return, he could provide some value down the stretch in deeper formats. Morin is expected to assume a low-leverage role in the bullpen and has no fantasy value.--Andy Patton - RotoBaller
