Andrew Wiggins 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves shooting guard/small forward Andrew Wiggins has all the physical tools to become a fantasy monster, but he just has not lived up to the hype, yet. Wiggins has turned into a high-volume shooter that is not at all efficient (43.8% on 15.9 attempts in 2017-18), he does create well for his teammates (2.0 assists per night) and connected on just 64.3% of his 3.8 free throw attempts. The positives are that he has started knocking down triples at an okay rate of 1.4 makes on 33.1% (down from 2016-17 where he shot 35.6%) and provides decent defensive stats at 0.6 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. There have been rumblings coming out of Minneapolis that Jimmy Butler is not happy with the defensive efforts of some the young players, and this would include Wiggins. This may be the year Wiggins breaks out, or it could be another high-usage, low-output season for the wing player.
