Allen Lazard 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Occasional Flex Play With Little Upside
2 years agoFormer Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard went to the New York Jets this offseason and joined quarterback Aaron Rodgers on a new team. During the 2022 season, Lazard had his breakthrough fantasy moments. He had 60 catches for 788 yards, six touchdowns, and a WR35 finish in fantasy. Lazard averaged 11.65 fantasy points per game, with 11 double-digit performances, making him a weekly flex play with WR3 upside. The former Packer will face more competition for targets in New York this season. Garrett Wilson will likely see the most targets, with Lazard, Mecole Hardman, Randall Cobb, and Corey Davis being the secondary options in the offense. However, Lazard already has that established connection with Rodgers, so that could benefit his favor in 2023. He also might be the team's deep threat option with four straight seasons of at least 12.5 yards per reception. However, Lazard never finished inside the top 45 for wideouts in PPR formats, with Davante Adams as the top option in Rodgers' offense. If Wilson sees that same volume as Adams, the 27-year-old might be an occasional flex this season. Lazard is ranked 122nd overall and WR51 in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
