Alex Reyes To Throw Bullpen Wednesday
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Alex Reyes (shoulder) passed his physical at camp on Wednesday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session. One of St. Louis' top pitching prospects for the last several seasons, Reyes has monumental upside but hasn't been able to stay healthy. He missed all of the 2017 season due to Tommy John surgery and threw just 27 innings in total last season in his return. The Cardinals will be careful with him this spring and haven't decided yet on whether he'll be a starter or reliever, so his fantasy value is kind of floating in the wind right now. He'd obviously have much more upside in a starting role, but he might also be intriguing in a high-leverage bullpen role. Because of his upside, Reyes is worth a late-round stab in mixed leagues.
