2 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Alex Meyer (shoulder) had a setback during his throwing session Saturday and will not pitch again during the regular season, according to general manager Billy Eppler. He will be re-examined. That ends what was altogether a pretty successful season in Anaheim, as Meyer went 4-5 with a 3.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and impressing 10.0 K/9 in 13 starts (67 1/3 innings). His strikeouts upside makes the post-hype prospect an intriguing deep sleeper in 2018 drafts, and there's a good shot he'll win a rotation spot out of spring training.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
