3/16:San Diego Padres outfielder Alex Dickerson has been diagnosed with a disc protrusion in his back. He will not require surgery, but he will miss three to four more weeks. That means he'll start the year on the disabled list. It's unfortunate for the left-handed stick that put his raw power on display in 2016. Improved plate discipline and 20 combined homers between the minors and majors put him on the map as a viable platoon guy in a corner outfield spot for San Diego this year. That could still come to fruition, but his uncertain playing time now makes him only a stash option in deep NL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
