Alek Manoah Bottomed Out By Six-Run Ambush
4 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah couldn't get through the first inning against the Houston Astros on Monday. The 25-year-old surrendered six runs on seven hits and one walk in one-third of a frame. Manoah took his seventh loss of the year and now displays a disfigured 6.36 ERA and 1.90 WHIP. It's a rock-bottom scenario for the 2022 All-Star, who's almost certainly been fantasy's biggest redraft bust of 2023. Fantasy managers may have a tough time pulling the drop trigger after Monday's fiasco, but Manoah should probably be on benches if he wasn't before this one already. The big right-hander will attempt to salvage what is swiftly spiraling into a lost season in a dangerous spot versus Joe Ryan and the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
