5/30:Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar has been terrible. He's slashing .179/.206/.232 on the season, and he has not attempted a single stolen base all year. The closest he's come was when he was picked off in the first inning of Monday's game, which is officially classified as a caught stealing. Escobar only reached base twice in a game six times this entire season, and one of those times was on Monday. It was his first multi-hit game in 17 days, and he has only walked twice in the month of May. However, because he had a triple-slash line of .183/.220/.250 as of May 7, he was promoted to the leadoff position on May 8. Escobar has since hit just .174, but his on-base percentage in that time has been buoyed up to .189 by his lone walk in the last three weeks. In case it wasn't clear, Escobar should not be owned in mixed leagues at this point.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
