A.J. Dillon 2021 Outlook: A Star Waiting In The Wings?
4 years agoTalk about a roller coaster ride when it comes to fantasy value: A.J. Dillon had plenty of fans shouting and proclaiming him as the new RB1 in Green Bay. Then the curveball came when the usually fickle Packers actually resigned stud running back Aaron Jones to a huge four-year $48 million dollar contract. All of the hype on the Dillon bandwagon was suddenly derailed. While Jones is a fantasy star and a first-round pick in leagues everywhere, Dillon will still carry value. Jones has missed plenty of NFL games due to injury in his career (eight during his first three years in the league). Dillon's best chance will be at the expense of Jones with an injury. Dillon was only targeted on a pair of passes during his rookie season and only caught 21 in his entire college career. The Packers seemed to double down on knowing this by drafting Kylin Hill out of Mississippi State in the seventh round - catching the football is his specialty. Watch the health of Jones carefully and be sure to stash Dillon away late in your draft in your leagues if you have the luxury to do so. An injury to Jones makes Dillon a potential top 20 overall player in fantasy.
