Aaron Rodgers 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Low-Upside QB2 Amid Age, Injury
7 months ago2023 was a lost season for New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) after barely making it through three offensive snaps in a Jets uniform. Expectations were sky-high in New York after the signing of Rodgers in the offseason, but a torn Achilles tendon sent his season asunder before gaining any real traction. In 2024, Rodgers looks to become his old self after an unprecedented rehab for a 40-year-old NFL vet. The last time we saw him play an entire season, it was in Packers' green, but the results differed from what we're accustomed to. In 2022, Rodgers failed to reach the 30-touchdown mark and had one of the worst seasons of his career – throwing for 3,695 yards (career-low) and 12 interceptions (career-high), culminating in an uncharacteristic QB13 finish. The Jets have a solid group of wide receivers in Garrett Wilson, free agent acquisition Mike Williams (knee), and third-round rookie Malachi Corley. Rodgers' best fantasy days may be far behind him as he climbs in age and works back from a significant injury, making him a better bet in best ball, as a bench quarterback, or a QB2 in superflex leagues with minimal upside in redraft circles. RotoBaller's quarterback rankings are on board with this assessment, as the veteran is ranked 20th among all signal callers heading into 2024 fantasy football drafts.
