Updated Running Back Depth Charts for Fantasy Football

justin jackson fantasy football rankings NFL DFS lineup picks

Running backs are a critical component and core building block for all fantasy football teams. RB is one of the most volatile positions in fantasy football, and one of the highest turnover positions in the NFL. Each year, running backs drop like flies and many NFL teams make in-season changes due to injuries or poor performance. Stay on top of all RB depth charts and dominate.

We will be updating the Fantasy Football Running Back Charts continuously, all season long. Be sure to also check back for these quick-hit notes, a running list of RB updates from @_PhilClark summarizing the most recent injuries and player news for fantasy football:

  • 12.23.18 Todd Gurley is out for today's matchup with the Cardinals according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.
  • 12.23.18 D'Onta Foreman is active for the first time this year. Alfred Blue is still expected to commandeer the majority of backfield touches for the Texans.
  • 12.22.18 Lamar Miller's ankle injury will force him to miss Houston's matchup with Philadelphia. Alfred Blue should function as the Texans' primary back in Miller's absence, although D'Onta Foreman should also be active for the first time this season.
  • 12.18.18 The Rams have signed C.J. Anderson as a potential insurance policy while Todd Gurley contends with his knee inflammation.
  • 12.18.18 Melvin Gordon has been a full participant in practice for each of the past two days and is currently on track to return this week.
  • 12.18.18 The Packers have placed Aaron Jones in injured reserve. Jamaal Williams was already this week's premiere waiver wire addition and will be in a position to stockpile touches against the Jets this week.
  • 12.16.18 - Ito Smith is active for the Falcons' matchup with Arizona.
  • 12.16.18 - Ty Montgomery is inactive for Baltimore. This is great news for anyone who recently added Kenneth Dixon.
  • 12.165.18 - Chris Thompson is active for Washington. However, his limited usage should compel owners to avoid using him.
  • 12.16.18 - Carlos Hyde is a healthy scratch for Jacksonville's matchup with Washington.
  • 12.16.18 - Chris Ivory is also out when the Bills line up against the Lions.  Marcus Murphy and Keith Ford would be the most likely candidates to receive touches with Ivory and McCoy out. But Isaiah McKenzie could easily pilfer carries, which makes it risky to start any Buffalo RBs.
  • 12.16.18 - LeSean McCoy is officially out for Buffalo's matchup with Detroit.
  • 12.15.18 - James Conner is expected to miss Week 15, but return next week.
  • 12.14.18 - Rashaad Penny has officially been ruled out.
  • 12.13.18Isaiah Crowell has been placed on IR.
  • 12.13.18Spencer Ware is officially inactive for Week 15.
  • 12.13.18Melvin Gordon has officially been ruled out for Week 15.
  • 12.12.18Austin Ekeler is out for Week 15.
  • 12.12.18LeSean McCoy has been limited in practice and is questionable.

Previous Running Back Fantasy Updates (Archive)

  • 12.2.18 Marlon Mack is active for Indianapolis as they contend with AFC South rival Jacksonville.
  • 12.2.18 Gus Edwards is active for Baltimore's matchup with Atlanta.
  • 12.2.18 Josh Adams is questionable (hip) for Philadelphia's Monday Night matchup with Washington, but it appears that he will play according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.   It would still be wise to have a backup plan in place in case he does not perform.
  • 12.2.18 Kareem Hunt could face at least a six-game suspension, and possibly more for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy. This situation continues to develop, although it is uncertain whether there will be a decision before rhe regular season concludes.
  • 11.30.18 Kareem Hunt was sent home from the Chiefs' practice facility in the aftermath of a video that was released by TMZ in which he shoved and kicked a woman. While speculation regarding this developing situation will be rampant, a likely scenario would be that Hunt will be placed on the commissioner's exempt list. Owners should not plan to have him available in Week 13, or possibly for the remainder of the season.  Focusing strictly on fantasy implications, Spencer Ware should be added in all leagues in which he remains available.
  • 11.25.18 Alex Collins is inactive for today's matchup with the Raiders. This is surprising since Collins had practiced fully on Friday. However, he has been contending with a foot injury, and Gus Edwards is primed to start for Baltimore.
  • 11.18.18 Chris Thompson will be inactive when Washington hosts Houston today. This was expected, and Thompson has touched the ball just five times since Week 5.
  • 11.18.18 Ty Montgomery is active for Baltimore's matchup with Cincinnati. It will be his debut as a Raven, and he could gain relevance while performing in an offense that should be modified to accentuate Lamar Jackson's strengths.
  • 11.16.18 Joe Mixon practiced in full today (Friday), and has also been removed from the injury report. This is excellent news for owners after he was limited in practice on Thursday (knee). He should be fine for Cincinnati's Week 11 matchup with Baltimore
  • 11.16.18 Minnesota offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has stated that Dalvin Cook is a "full-go" for the Vikings' Week 11 matchup with Chicago according to startribune.com's Ben Goessling. This is outstanding news for Cook owners, as he should receive an extensive workload, and could surpass his season-high 22 touches from back in Week 1
  • 11.16.18 - Chris Carson is active for Week 11 on Thursday Night Football. After missing time, he returned to practice this week and was not limited at all. He should resume lead running back duties, splitting time with Rashaad Penny and Mike Davis.
  • 11.16.18 - Royce Freeman is expected to make his return in Week 11, after missing time with an ankle injury.
  • 11.11.18 Leonard Fournette returns to the Jaguars after missing four games. He is expected to assume a full workload while functioning as the centerpiece of Jacksonville's offense.
  • 11.11.18 Giovani Bernard is active for Cincinnati's matchup with New Orleans.
  • 11.11.18 Sony Michel is active for New England's Week 10 matchup with the Titans. While there is risk in starting Michel after he has missed two games, the belief from here is that he will resume the same workload that he was operating with prior to his absence.
  • 11.11.18 Chris Ivory (shoulder) is inactive for Buffalo's Week 10 encounter with the Jets.
  • 11.11.18 Ronald Jones II will miss today's matchup with Washington due to his hamstring injury according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
  • 11.4.18 Chris Carson will be a game-time decision due to his hip injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He will be tested before the game to determine if he can play. However, owners should have an alternative option in place in case Carson is suddenly declared inactive for Seattle's late start.
  • 11.4.18 Royce Freeman is not expected to play for Denver today. Phillip Lindsay will operate as the Broncos' primary back, while Devontae Booker ascends into flex consideration for his owners.
  • 11.4.18 Melvin Gordon is expected to return to the Charger lineup today after he had been designated as questionable due to his hamstring issue.
  • 11.4.18 Chris Thompson is inactive, and will not play today when Washington lines up against Atlanta. That elevates Kapri Bibbs into Thompson's role and desperate Thompson owners can consider using him.
  • 11.4.18 Dalvin Cook will be active today when Minnesota faces NFC division rival Detroit. It will be his first game action since Week 4, although ESPN Vikings reporter Courtney Cronin reports that Cook will be limited to 10-20 snaps.
  • 11.2.18 The Jets have activated Elijah McGuire from IR, and he is primed to make his season debut on Sunday against Miami. He has recovered sufficiently from the foot issue that required surgery during the summer and should begin operating in a timeshare with Isaiah Crowell. He should currently be available on your waiver wires and is an excellent roster addition that could help owners through the remainder of your seasons.
  • 10.28.18 Matt Breida is expected to be active but will be limited when San Francisco faces NFC West rival Arizona, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This is a challenging situation for owners, due to the late afternoon start, and the likelihood that Raheem Mostert will commandeer the majority of carries. All of which makes Breida a risky start that should be avoided if you have other options.
  • 10.28.18 Marlon Mack is expected to play for Indianapolis when the Colts face the Raiders later today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
  • 10.28.18 Chris Thompson is active for Washington's matchup with the Giants. He has been out since Week 5, but should function as the Redskins' primary pass-catching back.
  • 10.24.18 Bilal Powell was placed on IR today, and will have season-ending surgery on his neck. The injury could also be career-threatening, according to head coach Todd Bowles. The Jets will now utilize rookie Trenton Cannon as the team's pass-catching back, while Isaiah Crowell will function as the primary rusher. Owners should add Elijah McGuire  while he remains available on your waiver wire, as he could return from IR next week (foot).
  • 10.22.18 An MRI of Sony Michel's knee did not reveal any structural damage, and he is considered week to week according to  ESPN's Adam Schefter.
  • 10.22.18 Marshawn Lynch has been placed on injured reserve due to his groin injury. With this move, the earliest that he can return to the team is Week 16.  Since he is not under contract beyond this season, this almost assuredly means that his days as a Raider are over.
  • 10.21.18 Duke Johnson is listed as the starter for Cleveland during today's matchup with Tampa Bay. But you can expect Nick Chubb and Johnson to both be highly involved in the Browns' offense today.
  • 10.21.18 Carlos Hyde is inactive for Jacksonville's Week 7 encounter with NFC South rival Houston. This will keep T.J. Yeldon as the Jaguars' RB1 for one more week.
  • 10.21.18 Melvin Gordon is officially inactive for today's Week 7 matchup at 9:30 am ET according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gordon will now have two weeks to recover as the Chargers have a bye in Week 8. But owners must quickly locate an alternative for the game that begins shortly. Austin Ekeler can now be started confidently as a RB2.
  • 10.20.18 Melvin Gordon has been downgraded to questionable (hamstring) for tomorrow's Week 7 matchup. and will most likely be a game time decision according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This sudden downgrade creates a challenge for owners due to the early kickoff in London (9:30 am ET). It will now be necessary to have an alternative plan in place, and to monitor his status until game time. Meanwhile, Austin Ekeler owners can anticipate an expanded workload even if Gordon does play.
  • 10.19.18 The Browns have traded Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars, in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This will dramatically impact the value of backs on both teams.  Anyone who has stashed Nick Chubb suddenly owns a viable RB2 who could help lead teams to deep playoff runs - or better. Duke Johnson's stock also rises, as he will receive a more extensive workload, and could deliver desirable numbers as a receiver. Hyde will not play in Week 7, but should otherwise function as Jacksonville's RB1 until Fournette returns. He will also provide the Jaguars with insurance if Fournette suffers yet another setback this season.
  • 10.19.18 Marshawn Lynch will be sidelined for at least a month due to his groin injury, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. While Jalen Richard is a more explosive runner than Doug Martin, beat writers who cover the Raiders are convinced that Martin will be the primary back when Oakland returns from the team's Week 7 bye. Richard is still an excellent roster stash in PPR leagues, while Martin has not performed impressively in limited action (27 carries/3.7 YPC).
  • 10.19.18 Dalvin Cook has officially been listed as out on the Vikings' injury report, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. Cook has registered 45 touches, and played in just three games so far. Latavius Murray owners can start him as an RB2 against a Jet run defense that  has surrendered 4.3 YPC to opposing rushers.
  • 10.19.18 Leonard Fournette has officially been ruled out for the Jaguar's Week 7 matchup with Houston, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. This is not a surprise, and Fournette owners will once again need to locate another option.
  • 10.19.18 Royce Freeman suffered a sprained ankle during Denver's Week 7 matchup with Arizona, according to ESPNs' Adam Schefter. The Broncos now have 10 days before their next contest against the Chiefs, although Schefter also mentioned that Freeman could miss time. While Freeman's situation should be monitored, this would provide a massive boost to Phillip Lindsay's workload, while also elevating Devontae Booker into a backup role.
  • 10.18.18 T.J. Yeldon returned to practice today (foot/ankle), and now appears primed to perform in Jacksonville's Week 7 matchup with AFC South rival Houston. This supplies Fournette owners who handcuffed Yeldon with a solution to their ongoing challenge of not having Fournette for yet another week.
  • 10.18.18 Leonard Fournette missed practice for a second straight day (hamstring), and it is highly unlikely that he will play in Week 7.
  • 10.16.18 - Devonta Freeman (foot, groin) has been placed on IR. It's still unknown whether he will return later this season.
  • 10.16.18 - Alfred Morris received zero touches on MNF, and only one snap. Raheem Mostert instead racked up 87 yards on 12 carries, and should continue to be involved going forward.
  • 10.15.18 - D'Onta Foreman is not expected to be activated from the PUP list this week, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Texans head coach Bill O'Brien stated that even though Foreman is eligible to be activated, he isn't physically ready to return.  The team has three weeks to determine whether to place Foreman on the active roster or injured reserve. But if you have roster space, he is still worth an addition in hopes that he can boost your scoring in the upcoming weeks.
  • 10.14.18 - Isaiah Crowell is officially active for the Jets' encounter with the Colts.
  • 10.14.18 - Dalvin Cook is inactive for today's matchup with Arizona, after apparently suffering a setback during pre-game warmups. . This elevates Latavius Murray into consideration for owners, although he could share touches with Roc Thomas.
  • 10.14.18 - Devonta Freeman is officially inactive for Atlanta's encounter with NFC South rival Tampa Bay.
  • 10.14.18 - Washington's Chris Thompson is likely to miss today's matchup with Carolina, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Thompson's rib and knee injuries will vault Kapri Bibbs into relevance, as the third-year back will share touches with Adrian Peterson - who is also contending with multiple injuries (ankle/knee/shoulder). This should enable Bibbs to receive enough touches for flex consideration.
  • 10.11.18 - Matt Breida was walking through the 49ers' locker room today without a noticeable limp, according to KNBR's Matt Maiocco. Maiocco also mentioned that Breida walked without an orthopedic boot. Breida has not been officially ruled out of San Francisco's Week 6 matchup with Green Bay, although owners should continue to monitor his status during the next few days.
  • 10.11.18 - Lamar Miller was upgraded to "full" in today's practice, and is now primed to return as Houston's primary back when the Texans face Buffalo. He may share touches with Alfred Blue, but it appears that his recent chest issue will not prohibit owners from using him as a low-end RB2/flex.
  • 10.11.18 - Dalvin Cook was upgraded to "full" in today's practice. Now that's a sentence that Cook owners have been hoping to read. It appears that he will return to Minnesota's lineup this week, and even though the Vikings might allocate some touches to Latavius Murray, Cook should receive a sufficient workload to warrant using him as an RB2.
  • 10.10.18 - Devonta Freeman missed today's practice due to a bone contusion in his foot, and his status for Atlanta's Week 6 matchup with Tampa Bay is in doubt according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. This is a separate injury from the MCL sprain that sidelined Freeman from Weeks 2-4, and this situation appears to be trending toward Tevin Coleman capturing an expanded workload. This would enable owners to utilize Coleman as their RB2. However, Coleman will likely share touches with Ito Smith,  who averaged nine touches per game during Freeman's previous absence. He now becomes worthy of a roster spot in deeper leagues.
  • 10.10.18 - The Jaguars reportedly are considering having Leonard Fournette sit until after the team's Week 9 bye according to floridafootballinsiders.com. If this were to occur, it obviously isn't great news for owners, who have only received 71 scoreless rushing yards, in exchange for the investment of a first-round pick. However, this should encourage owners to become proactive in locating the best short-term options. This could actually be preferable to having him return prematurely, then suffering another setback, and it would allow owners to avoid a weekly process of waiting until Sunday mornings to learn if he will be active.
  • 10.10.18 - Lamar Miller has stated that he will "definitely" play against the Bills in Week 6, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Miller is contending with a chest injury, and a return to the Texan lineup would likely create an unwanted time share between Miller and Alfred Blue. This would reduce the opportunity for either back to accrue favorable numbers, and owners should strongly consider locating alternative options in preparation for Miller's potential return.
  • 10.9.18 - Adrian Peterson (shoulder, knee) was banged up during the Monday night game - he is dealing with a dislocated shoulder but not expected to miss the Week 7 game. Chris Thompson (ribs) was also injured late in the game, and it's something to monitor.
  • 10.8.18 - Kyle Shanahan has stated that Matt Breida is doubtful for San Francisco's Week 6 matchup with Green Bay according to Cam Inman of the Mercury News. Breida did avoid a high ankle sprain, but appears destined to miss this week's game. Alfred Morris joins Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement atop this week's most enticing waiver wire additions at the running back position. Owners can also consider Kyle Juszczyk, who could function as the 49ers' receiving back.
  • 10.8.18 - Jay Ajayi will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a torn ACL according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement are the most likely candidates to commandeer the largest percentage of touches when the Eagles face division rival New York on Thursday. Clement appears to have recovered from his quad issue and now joins Smallwood in vaulting to the top of Week 6 waiver wire priorities at running back.
  • 10.7.18 - The Vikings are not expecting Dalvin Cook to play Sunday against the Eagles due to his lingering hamstring injury. This is a late afternoon game, but it is unlikely that owners were expecting to have their early-round pick available anyway. Latavius Murray should collect the majority of touches among Minnesota's running backs
  • 10.7.18 - The Texans are pessimistic that Lamar Miller will be able to play on Sunday night against Dallas due to his chest injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. If Alfred Blue is available on your waiver wire, you should add him right now. He becomes a viable flex option, while owners can also consider adding D'Onta Foreman, who could return to Houston's lineup in Week 7.
  • 10.5.18 - Pete Carroll has stated that Chris Carson (hip) will be available for Sunday's NFC West encounter with the Rams, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. Owners can tentatively plan on having Carson as an option, although uncertainty is prevalent regarding anything related to Seattle's deployment of running backs.
  • 10.5.18 - Dalvin Cook says that he will be a game-time decision for Minnesota's Week 5 matchup in Philadelphia, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  He remains questionable because of his protracted hamstring situation, and even if he does garner some touches, owners should be concerned that he will not be sufficiently involved in the Viking offense to warrant starting him this week.
  • 10.5.18 - Alex Collins returned to full practice today, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. This is a source of great relief for Collins owners, after his knee issue caused him to miss practice yesterday. Unfortunately, there is no similar relief for the ongoing presence of Javorius Allen, as both Raven backs will continue to operate in a timeshare this week in Cleveland.
  • 10.5.18 - Giovani Bernard will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks as the result of his sprained MCL, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Bernard's absence fortifies Joe Mixon's role as Cincinnati's unquestioned workhorse for this week's matchup with Miami, while Mark Walton becomes the recommended handcuff for Mixon owners.
  • 10.4.18 - Dalvin Cook's lingering hamstring injury has kept him from participating in practice for a second consecutive day, according to Vikings.com.  While his status should be monitored, owners are on the threshold of enduring another frustrating week without Cook in Minnesota's lineup. Latavius Murray would commandeer the majority of touches if Cook is unavailable when the Vikings travel to Philadelphia.
  • 10.4.18 - Alex Collins did not practice today as the result of his knee issue, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. However, owners can take solace in the fact that Pelissero also stated that the absence was precautionary. At this point, it appears that Collins will be available for Sunday's matchup with Cleveland.
  • 10.4.18 - The Patriots have released Kenjon Barner, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. New England will only dress two backs - Sony Michel and James White - for tonight's encounter with Indianapolis.
  • 10.4.18 - Joe Mixon practiced for a second consecutive according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. This is an indication that he could return to Cincinnati's Week 5 lineup when the Bengals face Miami. Mixon should receive a sizable workload if he can play.
  • 10.4.18Giovani Bernard missed practice for a second straight day according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. He is contending with a knee injury, and it has become increasingly unlikely that he will play in Week 5 against the Dolphins.
  • 9.30.18 - Alfred Morris and Matt Breida are both active for San Francisco's Week 4 matchup with the Chargers.
  • 9.30.18 - Chris Carson (hip) is inactive for Seattle's NFC West encounter with Arizona. Rashaad Penny should receive a significant workload in his absence.
  • 9.30.18 - Leonard Fournette's protracted hamstring issue forced him to exit Jacksonville's Week 4 matchup during the second quarter, and he did not return. The Jaguars appeared to have a comfortable lead, which could have been a factor in Fournette's continued absence. But the ongoing aggravation that his owners have experienced may continue throughout the season.
  • 9.30.18 - Philadelphia's Corey Clement (quad) is inactive for today's matchup with the Titans.
  • 9.30.18 - Jacksonville's Leonard Fournette (hamstring) will be active today when the Jaguars host the Jets.
  • 9.30.18 - Buffalo's LeSean McCoy (ribs) will be active for today's matchup with the Packers.
  • 9.30.18 - Tampa Bay's Ronald Jones, is expected to be active today for the first time this season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Peyton Barber has averaged just 2.9 YPC, which has maintained a path for Jones to attain a sizable role if he can perform proficiently.
  • 9.28.18 - Matt Breida is listed as questionable for San Francisco's Week 4 matchup with the Chargers due to his knee issue. He is also calling himself a game-time decision according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Eric Branch. Alfred Morris is also contending with a knee injury. But if he is available on Sunday, he would receive a massive workload should Breida be unable to perform, Owners for both backs should monitor their situations, while also constructing a backup plan since the 49ers play a late afternoon game.
  • 9.28.18 - Joe Mixon (knee) is officially out for Cincinnati's Week 4 encounter with Atlanta, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. This is not a surprise, and the good news for Giovani Bernard owners is that he has been removed from the injury report (thigh). Bernard is now primed to flourish on Sunday against an Atlanta defense that has surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing backs.
  • 9.28.18 - Leonard Fournette is officially listed as questionable for Jacksonville's Week 4 matchup with the Jets, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. Fournette was a full participant in Friday's practice amid his ongoing hamstring issue, and it appears that he could return for Sunday's contest. But considering how his situation has fluctuated to this point of the season, it is wise for owners to monitor his status as Sunday's kickoff approaches.
  • 9.26.18 - LeSean McCoy practiced on a limited basis today according to WGRZ's Heather Prusak. McCoy has stated that he will play in Buffalo's Week 4 matchup with Green Bay, although owners should continue to monitor his progress this week.
  • 9.26.18 - Leonard Fournette returned to practice today, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. Fournette owners who invested a first-round pick in order to secure him for their rosters have received a total of 12 touches for 55 yards entering Week 4. But this is a promising sign that he will return for Jacksonville's matchup with the Jets, barring any setbacks.
  • 9.23.18 - Corey Coleman is active for Philadelphia's matchup with Indianapolis despite his quad problem, and should perform as Philadelphia's RB1. Wendell Smallwood could siphon a reasonable percentage of touches, but Clement remains a high-end RB option.
  • 9.23.18 - Leonard Fournette is inactive for a second consecutive week, and will miss today's game with the Titans. T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant will split the workload in his absence.
  • 9.23.18 - LeSean McCoy is officially inactive for Buffalo's matchup with Minnesota today according to ESPN's Mike Rodak. Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy should split the workload, although game script should make it difficult for the Bills to rely heavily on their ground game.
  • 9.23.18 - Leonard Fournette is not expected today in today's matchup with Tennessee according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. While Fournette's hamstring injury will keep him on the sidelines, T.J. Yeldon is expected to play despite his ankle issue. Yeldon should share touches with Corey Grant, with both players providing flex value.
  • 9.21.18 - Corey Clement became a sudden addition to the injury report according to philly.com's Jeff McLane. Clement's quadricep issue potentially threatens his ability to function as Philadelphia's workhorse back during the Eagles' Week 3 matchup with Indianapolis. Jay Ajayi (back), and Darren Sproles (hamstring) are officially out, which will keep Clement among the high-end RB2 options if he able to play.
  • 9.20.18 - Giovani Bernard was a full participant in today's practice according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. This is an excellent development for anyone who owns Bernard, as he can operate as a high end RB2 in your lineups during this week's matchup with Carolina.
  • 9.20.18 - Dalvin Cook missed a second consecutive day of practice due to his hamstring injury according to Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.  If Latavius Murray is available in your leagues, it is strongly advised that you pick him up now. There is little rationale for the Vikings to risk further injury to Cook during their Week 3 matchup with the talent deficient Bills. This should enable Murray to obtain a significant workload, which would elevate him into RB1 consideration.
  • 9.19.18 - Jay Ajayi failed to practice today due to his back injury, and is being labeled as 'day-to-day' according to Philly.com's Jeff McLane. With Darren Sproles also missing practice as he contends with his hamstring problem, a cavernous path is being created for Corey Clement to commandeer a substantial workload during a favorable Week 3 matchup with the Colts.
  • 9.19.18 - Giovani Bernard was limited in today's practice due to a knee injury according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. Thomas Rawls and rookie Mark Walton are the current backups to Bernard, who is still expected to receive an extensive workload in Week 3 against Carolina.
  • 9.19.18 - Leonard Fournette practiced for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 1 according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. He was limited during practice, but it still represents a positive step toward his potential return for Sunday's matchup with Tennessee.
  • 9.19.18 - LeSean McCoy practiced on a limited basis according to ESPN's Chris Brown. He is still contending with cracked rib cartilage, however it appears more likely that he will attempt to play in Week 3 when the Bills travel to Minnesota.
  • 9.17.18 - Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn said that he is not sure what the timetable is for Devonta Freeman's return from his knee injury, according to ESPN's Vaughn McClure.
  • 9.17.18 - LeSean McCoy has cracked rib cartilage and is now questionable for Buffalo's Week 3 matchup with Minnesota according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
  • 9.17.18 - Minnesota's Dalvin Cook suffered a hamstring injury in overtime of the Vikings' Week 2 matchup with the Packers. The issue does not appear to be serious, but the situation will be monitored.
  • 9.17.18 - LeSean McCoy left the Bills' Week 2 encounter with the Chargers due to a rib injury. Marcus Murphy and Chris Ivory would share touches when Buffalo travels to Minnesota in Week 3, if McCoy is unable to play.
  • 9.16.18 - Devonta Freeman's knee injury is now expected to sideline him for 2-3 weeks according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This is clearly unwelcome news for Freeman owners. But anyone who owns Tevin Coleman can anticipate him receiving a massive workload that should result in consistent RB2 output during Freeman's absence.
