It's Week 14– we're officially halfway through the season, and more opportunities to produce are opening up around the league. The waiver wire is flowing powerfully right now, and there are some interesting adds that can give you the extra edge against your opponents.
This year, we're tossing out our old convention of separating waiver wire posts into positions, and instead, we're separating them into of league -- standard, shallow, deep, etc. The NBA is trending to positionless basketball, so we at RotoBaller should too.
For shallow (8-10 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 65% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Shallow League Adds for Week 14
Jarrett Jack PG/SG
Ownership: 34%
8.2 PPG / 3.6 REB / 6.2 AST / .445 FG%
It's amazing that Jack is still fantasy relevant after all these years, but he seems to have found a productive role with the Knicks. He recently strung along 4 straight games of 8+ assists, including a 16/10/10 triple double against Chicago. The great thing about veterans is that given the opportunity their output will be more or less consistent and with Frank Ntilinka not ready to take the reins as of yet, Jack seems to have his starter position locked up for now.
Despite his mediocre season averages, over the past 14 days he's averaging 13.7 PPG, 6.9 AST, 3.7 REB, 1.3 STL and shooting an unreal .513 FG% from the floor. His spot is safe for now but if the Knicks do decide to develop their younger core he may begin to split more time with Ntilinka which will impact his fantasy value. Nonetheless, he is a must add if you are in need for assists and modest scoring.
Wayne Ellington, SG/SF
Ownership: 34%
10.6 PPG / 2.9 REB / 2.9 3PM / .838 FT%
It's always disappointing when a player goes down with a season ending injury, like Dion Waiters (ankle) -- but that just means more opportunity for someone else who can save your fantasy season. Specialists are key to winning your leagues, and Wayne Ellington is your guy for three pointers. He is a high volume three point shooter, as he shoots 7 per game and hits about 40% from the perimeter.
The injury of Dion Waiters should give Ellington more minutes which will give him more chances to fire away as he has the green light in Miami. Like all shooters he can be streaky, so keep that in mind when considering him as your weekly pickup. If your team can handle the shooting up and downs, then the Heat's sharpshooter should be owned, particularly in roto formats.

There aren't many consistent fantasy options on the Kings this season, but Bogdan might be a player that can be valuable to you the rest of the season. Coach Dave Joerger recently said that he plans to rest two veterans every game for the rest of the season. The Kings are in rebuild mode so this move makes sense and this just means more opportunities for their younger core.
Bogdan has been extremely consistent as of late, in the past 14 days he's averaging 15.0 PPG, 4.0 AST, 1.6 3PM, 50% FG and 90% FT. He drew the start Monday night and although his shot wasn't falling, he was still able to contribute 2 steals. He is a must add as he may see more starts in the future. Just make sure you don't mistake him for the other Bogdanovic in Indiana.
