Recent Update

9/19:Second baseman Dee Gordon and outfielder Marcell Ozuna are not in the Miami Marlins' lineup for Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. Ichiro Suzuki takes Ozuna's place and is batting first while Derek Dietrich will play second base and bat sixth. With the Marlins left to play out the string it makes sense for the team to give some rest to some of the veterans over the final few games. Look for both Gordon and Ozuna to return to action on Wednesday.--Matt Terelle - Rotoballer

Beat Writer Chatter

  • @JoeFrisaro: The 5-man infield with bases full and no-outs in ninth. Ozuna playing infield again.
  • @JoeFrisaro: Not just Stanton. @Marlins boast 2 players worthy of MVP votes. Ozuna also in mix
  • @clarkspencer: Stanton hit 57th HR and broke team RBI mark with 4 more to give him 125. But I can't help but think of monster season Ozuna is having.
  • @JoeFrisaro: Kudos to @PrestonWilson44 for holding that @Marlins RBI mark 121 since 2000. Almost 17-year run. Stanton now 123. Ozuna at 118.

  • @joecapMARLINS: RT @MarlinsMedia: Marcell Ozuna with his second HR of the game, his 5th career multi HR game, 4th this season.
  • @JoeFrisaro: Ozuna with 3 RBIs, now at 118. So G (120) and Ozo may pass Preston Wilson's club mark 121 in 2000. @Marlins
  • @JoeFrisaro: Ozuna with his second of night, now 36 on year. #Marlins up 8-7. Amazingly Greinke is still in game in fourth
  • @JoeFrisaro: Ozuna's HR, per @statcast 434 feet, 108 exit speed, 26 degree launch. But @Marlins 2-run lead gone. Iannetta's 3-run HR has #Dbacks up 3-2
  • @JoeFrisaro: Ozuna, meanwhile, had a 2-run homer in first, and D-backs just paid tribute to Brad Zielger @Marlins
  • @JoeFrisaro: Stanton hasn't homered today. But Ozuna has 2 RBIs and JB just hit a 2-run HR. Now, 4-0 @Marlins
  • @JoeFrisaro: @rjrcpa10 Ozuna pinch-hit and struck out.
  • @JoeFrisaro: @rjrcpa10 No surprise. Mattingly gave Yelich off on Monday, Stanton off on Sunday, and on Monday said Ozuna would be off Tuesday.
  • @JoeFrisaro: Final 13-1 @Marlins Stanton hits 55, Ozuna 34
  • @JoeFrisaro: Ozuna chips in with a home run, No. 34. @Marlins taking out a lot of frustration tonight.
  • @clarkspencer: Gordon, Stanton, Yelich and Ozuna with consecutive singles to start the game, and Marlins take a 2-1 lead in the 1st.
