Recent Update

7/15:The Texas Rangers are having some more injury issues. Jake Diekman has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lacerated left index finger. He should return when first eligible, but the Rangers bullpen will miss his 2.73 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. Derek Holland has been moved to the 60-day disabled list. He has begun playing catch but there is still no timetable for his return to the majors. Even with the All-Star break, it wasn’t enough time for Shin-Soo Choo to heal his lower back issue. Ryan Rua is betting sixth and in left field in Choo’s place today against the Cubs.--Ben Ruppert - RotoBaller

  • @Evan_P_Grant: Cole Hamels out to start the eighth, which is significant considering how short Rangers bullpen is tonight (No Claudio or Diekman)
  • @JeffWilson_FWST: Cole Hamels at 96 pitches after seven innings. With Alex Claudio and Jake Diekman supposedly unavailable, does Hamels start the eighth?
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Column: Alex Claudio, Puerto Rican teammates. Diekman. Whole team. Bigger than baseball sometimes. JUST READ https://t.co/YArJYbquUv
  • @JeffWilson_FWST: #Rangers keep Jake Diekman in to face Yonder Alonso, who swings at first pitch bounces out. Diekman had just issued a four-pitch walk.
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Diekman walks Cruz. Seagar up as tying run. Nothing easy in the AL Mild Card race
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Jake Diekman pitching on consecutive days and third time in last 4
  • @Sullivan_Ranger: RT @nataliesparacio: Thanks to @JakeDiekman for sharing his brave battle with #ulcerativecolitis with me. Check out the interview: https://…
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Diekman strikes out Seager on 3 pitches after pitching around Cruz. Maybe Diekman pitches 9th. Are Rangers auditioning him? Don't ask.
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Diekman gets Cano. Now faces Cruz. Might pitch ninth. Might get save. But don't ask if he's the closer. Trust me. Don't ask.
  • @JeffWilson_FWST: #Rangers on their second pitcher of the eighth. It's Jake Diekman to face Robinson Cano with one out and one on in a 3-1 game.
  • @Evan_P_Grant: Here comes Jake Diekman.
