Recent Update

3/15:Detroit Tigers infielder Andrew Romine is a candidate to earn playing time in center field to start the season. He entered the spring game Tuesday hitting .333 with a .515 slugging percentage. Outfielders Tyler Collins, Anthony Gose, Mikie Mahtook and JaCoby Jones are also fighting for time in center field. Romine would be a long-shot candidate for playing time in center field, but he does provide excellent defense in a super-utility role. Romine doesn't move the needle at all for fantasy owners, but he might be worth an end-game dart throw for a dollar in AL-only leagues if he wins the starting center field job.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

  • @beckjason: Andrew Romine will not play all 9 positions in a game this week, Ausmus said. If it happens, likely last game at MIN if Twins clinch early.
  • @beckjason: Nothing set on Andrew Romine playing all 9 positions in a game. Ausmus said he hasn't talked with GM Al Avila or opponents about it yet.
  • @beckjason: Ausmus has been thinking about playing Andrew Romine at all nine positions for a while. Story from early August: https://t.co/igKyQvq4HG
  • @beckjason: Brad Ausmus tells 97.1 he has thought about playing Andrew Romine at all nine positions in a game during series vs. White Sox or A's.
  • @beckjason: Now three Tigers runs (one earned) after Andrew Romine 2-out RBI single makes it a one-run game in 6th. Nick Goody replaces Clevinger.
  • @beckjason: Kluber back out for 9th, trying for shutout. Indians three outs away from 20th straight win. Romine, Kinsler, Presley due up for Detroit.
