Saves are an important component for many fantasy baseball leagues. Closers are one of the most volatile positions in fantasy baseball, and one of the highest turnover positions in MLB. Each year, closers drop like flies and many MLB teams make in-season changes due to injuries or poor performance. Stay on top of all closer depth charts for the AL and NL, and dominate in saves this year.

We will be updating the MLB Closers & Saves Depth Charts every day, all season long. Be sure to also check out these quick hit notes from @IAmRickGraham summarizing the biggest bullpen news from around MLB:

  • 5/23/2018 - The Reds placed closer Rasiel Iglesias on the DL with a strained LEFT bicep. Being that it's on his non-throwing arm, the injury shouldn't keep him out longer than the minimum ten days which puts him on track to return next Tuesday. For now, expect some committee headed by Jared Hughes and Amir Garrett to fill in.
  • 5/20/2018 - Blake Parker was used to protect a three-run lead in the 9th inning Sunday afternoon, and converted the save rather easily (one hit, two strikeouts). Expect Parker to be the guy going forward and he should be added where available.
  • 5/20/2018 - Seranthony Dominguez picked up a two-inning save this weekend, and now we can add his name to the mix of potential closer candidates in Philadelphia. Dominguez is a special talent who will no doubt be a closer one day, but for now, he's more of a high upside speculative add, but one worth chasing if you have the roster space.
  • 5/17/2018 - Nate Jones was called upon to close out Thursday nights game for the White Sox. That's now three different relievers used in their last three save situations, creating even more volatility. It's a good sign Jones was able to shut the door though, and if you are chasing one guy here, he definitely classifies as the highest upside option.
  • 5/16/2018 - Braves manager Brian Snitker talked about potentially using Dan Winkler (as well as AJ Minter) in some save situations going forward following Arodys Vizcaino's second blown save of the season. Vizcaino has pretty respectable numbers (2.75 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) and is still the primary closing option, but keep an eye out for Winkler, who has been dominant this year.
  • 5/14/2018 - Updating the previous note, Middleton was placed on the 10-day DL with UCL damage and there's a good chance he will need season-ending Tommy John surgery. Parker and Johnson seemed like the best adds, but Justin Anderson nailed the save down on Monday night.
  • 5/13/2018 - Keynan Middleton is going for an MRI on his elbow, making the bullpen volatile between Jim Johnson, Blake Parker and Cam Bedrosian. Johnson was working as closer prior to Middletons initial DL return but didn't fare well. Blake Parker has probably earned another chance to work as the closer, but it's tough to tell which way Mike Scioscia will go.
