Cole's 2.79 ERA is shiny, but the lack of strikeouts is concerning; he had zero in his last outing. The Diamondbacks are a top-10 offense versus RHP, making this a pass in my books.
Max’s Value Plays of the Day
Patrick Corbin (SP, ARI) at Pirates
Here's where my funds will be in the Corbin-Cole duel. Corbin has a 2.01 ERA on the road and the Pirates struggle versus LHP.
Matt Wisler (SP, ATL) vs Brewers
People doubt Wisler because of the advanced metrics, but the kid can pitch. He has a 1.80 ERA in his last four starts and the Brewers are one of the worst teams versus RHP.
Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball
Drew Smyly (SP, TB) vs Marlins
The Marlins hit lefties better than right-handers and a matchup versus Jose Fernandez makes his winning odds slim.
CC Sabathia (SP, NYY) vs Blue Jays
Don't be fooled by his last start at Oakland (6 IP, ER). The Blue Jays mash left-handers and should feast here.
