Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays
Adam Wainwright (STL) vs PHI
FanDuel - $7,800 / DraftKings - $8,900
Something to keep in mind with the Tool is it takes previous performance into consideration (shocker). But in this case Wainwright just hasn't looked the same and isn't striking out enough batters to justify a DraftKings purchase.
Gerrit Cole (PIT) vs CHC
FanDuel - $9,100 / DraftKings - $9,400
Cole had a 2.83/1.08 line at home last season and has 19 strikeouts in 22 innings. Given the formidable Cubs offense, I'll be passing on this one. Though keep in mind ownership will be low for a top pitcher.
Max’s Value Plays of the Day
Dallas Keuchel (HOU) vs MIN
FanDuel - $10,500 / DraftKings - $9,900
Keuchel has been inconsistent to begin 2016 but he has not lost in Houston since July 2014. The Twins strike out almost 23% of the time versus left-hand pitching. Given Keuchel's rough stretch, ownership should be low for this juicy matchup.
Jimmy Nelson (MIL) vs LAA
FanDuel - $7,100 / DraftKings -$7,500
Nelson has a 3.16 ERA through five starts, a figure that should be lower if not for poor defense behind him. He's striking out just under a batter per inning and should have a strong chance for a win tonight.
Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball
Jered Weaver (LAA) @ MIL
FanDuel - $7,400 / DraftKings - $6,500
Weaver's fastball hasn't crept past 90 mph this year and the Brewers have scored 19 runs in their past two games. If you buy Weaver on FanDuel I can't help you.
Jose Berrios (MIN) @ HOU
FanDuel - $6,200 / DraftKings - $7,700
Love the phenom. Love his stuff. Hate the matchup. Tough Astros lineup and Keuchel on the mound. He'll be a useful play eventually, just not here.
