ANALYSIS: Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart has scored a touchdown in three of the last five games and is on the fantasy radar once again. Stewart carried the ball 11 times for 45 yards against the Saints on Sunday, scoring his third touchdown of the season. Stewart did lose two fumbles on November 5, and is only averaging 3.2 yards per carry this season, but his efficiency in the red zone makes him an impact player.

The Panthers utilize both Stewart and Christian McCaffrey in the backfield, but the rookie McCaffrey was dealing with a shoulder injury last week and has been under 10 carries in four of the last five games. McCaffrey does have multiple catches in each of the last five games, including two games with five catches, showing his role in the offense. Stewart's real threat for carries is likely from Cam Newton, who has 89 carries for 515 yards and five touchdowns this season.

If fantasy owners can bench Stewart this week against the league's best defense against RB (Minnesota), top-ten matchups against Green Bay and Tampa Bay follow for Stewart. McCaffrey is obviously the most valuable back for the Panthers, but Stewart is good for 10-15 carries per game at a minimum and is useful in the red zone as well. If Stewart can cash in touchdown runs in ideal matchups against the Packers and Buccaneers, he should be very valuable for the playoff run.
