BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3/Flex Option
ANALYSIS: Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner is the RB29 for the year, averaging 12.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran running back missed four games earlier this season with a knee injury. While he struggled in his first few games back from the injury, Conner has been outstanding lately.
The star running back has averaged 19.5 fantasy points per game over his past three contests, making him the RB3 on a points-per-game basis during that span. Conner has seen an uptick in receiving work, totaling 12 receptions over his past four games. Fantasy players should expect that trend to continue this week after the Cardinals placed Marquise Brown (heel) on season-ending injured reserve.
Today, Conner faces a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has held running backs to 15.1 fantasy points per game, the fourth-fewest in the NFL this year. However, they have struggled lately. Over their past five games, the Eagles have surrendered 99 rushing yards, 0.8 touchdowns, and 21.6 fantasy points per game to running backs.
While the RotoBaller rankings say Conner is borderline low-end RB2/high-end RB3, I believe fantasy players should view the veteran running back as a top-12 option.
