FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (3/8/17): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Good morning and afternoon, RotoBallers. Let's make it a good night, too, shall we? There is a very enticing 11 game slate this evening, made all the more enticing by some enormous tournament prize pools on FanDuel. Entry fees for some of the Main tournaments have jumped up a few dollars, but the payouts are too good to fade that competition altogether.

Before we jump into game and player analysis, let's gander at a few Vegas lines that could (or should) be of interest as we build our lineups - especially for those of you who want to deploy a stack or three. In terms of games with high point totals (over/unders) there isn't a whole lot I'm drooling over. However, there are three games that caught my eye, and if I'm going to attack the tournaments tonight with a stack, it'll likely be from one of the following games/teams: Jazz at Houston (214), Nets at Hawks (219.5) and, my favorite of them all, Celtics at Warriors (222.5).

In this article, I will be providing you with daily NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/8/17. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. And now for the good stuff.

FanDuel DFS Guards

John Wall - PG, at DEN ($10,200)

As far as meeting (and surpassing) value goes, lately, John Wall has been either striking out or hitting a grand slam. In his past 10 games, he's exceeded value five times, and most recently he put up FanDuel points totals of 57+ points in two of the Wizards' last three games. He's normally worth paying up for when the matchup is right, and tonight, the cards have certainly aligned for another 50+ point explosion. Not only does Denver operate at a fairly quick pace, but they are also an abysmal backcourt defensively, as they currently allow more points to opposing point guards than any other team taking the floor tonight. If you're playing cash and worried about his floor, well, fear not, as he's consistently been playing 36+ minutes and producing more than 1.2 FanDuel points per minute. As it stands right now, Wall is my favorite tournament play of the evening.

Also Consider: Steph Curry - PG, vs BOS ($10,400)

Sean Kilpatrick - SG, at ATL ($3,900)

As of this writing, there isn't a whole lot jumping off the table at shooting guard, especially if you don't want to break the bank. Kilpatrick, however, represents a solid punt option thanks to his increased minutes and increased role in the offense of late, and he somewhat possesses tournament upside as well. In his past 5 games, he's put up double digit shots in three of the five, and in one of the games where he didn't, he still managed to take 17 trips to the free throw line. In other words, he's crushed value and he's in position to keep up that trend tonight thanks to an exploitable price tag and a lack of other offensive threats on the Brooklyn roster. His Usage projection for the evening currently sits at 22.6, which is strong overall, and incredible for a player with a price tag under 4k.

Also Consider: Bradley Beal - SG, at DEN ($7,700)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Khris Middleton - SF, vs NYK ($5,700)

Mr. Middleton is the flavor of the week, and for good reason, too. Many - myself included - thought The Alphabet would flourish (from a fantasy perspective) in the absence of Jabari Parker, but that hasn't been the case thus far. Enter Middleton, who was waiting in the wings so to speak, as he's returned to the lineup and played some great basketball of late. In the Bucks' past four games, he's easily surpassed his price implied value. There's a lot to like about Middleton right now, and one of those things is that his price hasn't really caught up to his recent production. Tonight, his matchup is pretty opportune, seeing as the Knicks play poor defense, allow a ton of points on a per-possession basis, and Middleton creates a matchup problem for nearly anyone on the roster. His season 23+ Usage rate is very attractive, too, and something you can't always find in this price range. As it stands right now, Middleton is my favorite value play of the night.

Also Consider: Terrence Ross - SF, vs CHI ($4,500)

Paul Millsap - PF, vs BKN ($7,900)

Paul has been a model of consistency in the past week or so. His numbers haven't been stellar, but they have exceeded his price implied value fairly easily. On top of that, if there is a situation where Millsap can put up tournament-winning type numbers, it's in the matchup like the one he has tonight - fast paced and defense optional. Yes, his opponent is the Brooklyn Nets. You can normally book Millsap for 35+ minutes, and thanks to his solid production-per-minute numbers, he has a safe floor. Of all the teams taking the floor tonight, the Nets allow the third most points to opposing power forwards. Look for Millsap to be involved early and often.

Also Consider: Marvin Williams - PF, at MIA ($5,100)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Cody Zeller - C, at MIA ($5,800)

Mr. Zeller has been relatively flourishing ever since his return from injury coincided with Frank Kaminsky's starting lineup departure (also thanks to injury) and he's in a good position tonight to surpass value. In each of his last three games, he's easily hit value and in his most recent outing, he crushed it, putting up 33 FanDuel points. Zeller has always been an efficient player, going for roughly .9 points per minute this season, but his value has increased now that his minutes floor is higher. The Charlotte frontcourt is thin, and it's lead to more minutes for Zeller, as well as increased shot opportunities. He's also done a bang-up job on the boards, too, and can hit DFS value even when he doesn't get double-digit shot opportunities.

Also Consider: Andre Drummond - C, at IND ($7,900)
