FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (3/22/17): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Good morning my fine friends, and welcome to this week's eight game NBA Wednesday daily fantasy competition. As far as Wednesday's go, we're a little light on games, but not to the point where we have to overly obsess about ownership percentages. The game landscape is fairly evenly spread, with two earlier games, three at 8 PM and a trio of late night games to take us to the finish - where, hopefully, there's a large pile of cash waiting for you and me.

Before I get into the player selections, let's take a look at a few Vegas betting lines that could be of interest to us. I've read strategies where people obsess over Vegas lines and others who ignore them completely. Me? I fall somewhere in the middle, perhaps leaning towards Vegas lines a little heavier when I'm deciding on GPP players and if/when I want to stack a team or an entire game. My first focus is on the over/under (more or less the projected point total, give or take a point) and then secondarily at the spread, as I don't like to overload on games where there's a stronger change for a blowout. For tonight, I particularly like the Cavs at Nuggets, as they not only feature the highest over/under (228.5), but also an extremely low spread of just 3.5 points. Other than that, the Hawks at Wizards over/under line of 214 with a spread of just seven points is fairly enticing, too.

In this article, I will be providing you with daily NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/22/17. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Let's get to it, shall we?

FanDuel DFS Guards

George Hill - PG, vs NYK ($6,500)

The options at point guard tonight, at least in my opinion, are less than desirable. I know that might feel funny to read, seeing as we have 16 teams in action and stars like Russell Westbrook, John Wall and Kemba Walker taking the floor, but each of them leave something to be desired tonight - whether it be due to matchup, pricing, cold streaks - or some combination of the aforementioned. As such, I'm going to roll with a guy in Hill that I know has a solid floor, has been playing well, and offers strong upside tonight. He is priced just cheap enough to be a value play and he's managed to exceed value in six of his last 10 games, including each of his last two. One of the things I like most, though, is the upside I mentioned before, which presents itself in the form of a pace-up game. The Knicks operate quickly and that means plenty of more opportunities for possessions for Hill to find an open teammate or get a shot off against a team that isn't exactly known for its defensive prowess. Hill has been getting up double digit shot opportunities of late, too, and hasn't attempted less than 10 since March 11th.

Also Consider: Malcolm Brogdon - PG, at SAC ($5,000)

Gary Harris - SG, vs CLE ($6,100)

I used to shy away from Harris in cash and tournament formats for two reasons - his minutes were unreliable (in that he wasn't always getting a solid amount AND his production per minute was poor), but that has all changed recently. Denver is in full tank mode and that means giving their younger stars - like Harris - more minutes and more freedom to pull the trigger. In the Nuggets' last five games, the lowest number of minutes Harris has played has been 35.5 and the lowest number of shot attempts has been nine. In that same stretch, he's played more than 39 minutes three times and attempted 14+ shots three times. Catch my drift? Additionally, tonight's matchup against Cleveland is a good one for Harris, as they allow the second highest +/- to opposing shooting guards of the 16 teams in action tonight and the game is also projected to be very fast paced and high scoring.

Also Consider: Victor Oladipo - SG, vs PHI ($6,100)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

LeBron James - SF, at DEN ($11,100)

With all the value options available at both guard slots, it's fairly easy to throw Mr. James into your lineup. Nine times out of 10 - and that estimate might be too low - when you can fit LeBron into your lineup, you do so. All production considered, this is somewhat of a bargain James price, and I think he can cruise past value when I look at the matchup numbers. The Nuggets like to fly around - often carelessly - and it should lead to fast break opportunities and just more possessions overall for Cleveland. That's great news for a monster like James that owns a Usage rate over 30 and a PER of 26.9. James leads all small forwards that take the floor tonight with his 1.3 fantasy points per minute level of production.

Also Consider: Jimmy Butler - SF, vs DET ($8,900)

Enes Kanter - PF, vs PHI ($5,500)

Ever since his return to action, Kanter has reclaimed his place as the center of the second unit's offense. His minutes can be a little low to warrant cash game consideration, but he always offers GPP upside thanks to his 1.14 fantasy point per minute production and the fact that he gets so many shots up. In fact, just once in the last six games did Kanter attempt less than double digit shots. Aside from the fact that Philadelphia gives up a ton of points to opposing power forwards, I also like this matchup for the blowout potential. The Thunder are double digit favorites and if they are to build a lead early, Kanter could see an even bigger allotment of minutes tonight.

Also Consider: Aaron Gordon - PF, vs CHA ($5,400)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Dwight Howard - C, at WAS ($6,800)

Believe it or not, Howard has not only been producing pretty strong numbers, but he's done so consistently this month - something that is pretty rare for the Jekyll and Hyde center. Howard has exceeded value in seven of his last ten games (including both of his most recent pair) and yet his price has actually dropped $200. He's in a strong position to safely hit value tonight and I think the matchup offers 40+ point upside. Gortat can be a beast in the middle, but outside of that, the Wizards don't have the strongest interior, and I think Howard will take advantage there. Of the 16 teams in play tonight, the Wizards are in the bottom five defensively, as they allow a +/- to opposing centers of 3+.

Also Consider: Nikola Vucevic - C, vs CHA ($8,000)
