FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/15/17): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Hello, hello, RotoBallers. Welcome to the most massive NBA daily fantasy contest I've ever seen on schedule. Tonight, in the Main contest that tips at 7 EST, we have 14 games scheduled. Many of these games are enticing, and I'll get to my picks in just a second, as there's much to discuss.

In this article, I will be providing you with daily NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/15/17. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

Before we get into the player selection and rationale, let's take a look at a few Vegas lines that could be helpful when deciding which games to target and which teams are stack-worthy. With such a monstrous slate, there has to be some monstrous projected point totals (over/unders), right? Right. Let's start with Bucks at Nets (219), Pacers at Cavs (219.5), Heat at Rockets (222.5) and the Lakers at Suns (225). Of that bunch, I particularly like the Lakers at Suns matchup, due to pace of play, price of their players and the low spread of just four points.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Ricky Rubio - PG, at DEN ($6,900)

My man Ricky has been killing it of late, having surpassed his price implied value in six of his last 10 games - by a margin of more than five FanDuel points a night - and in three of his last three games. In the trio of games where his shooting has picked up, he's managed no less than 38 FanDuel points. Tonight, he's in excellent position to continue the trend and happens to be available at a price that hasn't caught up to his recent production. One thing I particularly like about the matchup is that the Nuggets operate at a fast pace, which suits Rubio's style of play and ups the number of possessions he'll have to work with. What I like most, however, is that the Denver defense - especially against point guards - is abysmal. No team taking the floor tonight allows a greater +/- to opposing point guards than the Nuggets do.

Klay Thompson - SG, vs SAC ($6,900)

Back to back guards at $6,900?! Nice. Klay has been relatively lighting it up lately, and I think you'll want to get on the train before the price skyrockets to a price where he can only be considered in tournament formats. Tonight, I think he's a strong play in both cash games and tournaments, especially since he's been getting off a high volume of shot attempts. In his past 10 games, he's exceeded his price implied value seven times - including five of his last six. In the Warriors' past five games, Klay has averaged 19.4 shot attempts, and I like that trend to continue tonight with his Usage rate projection hovering around 27. What makes the play even more enticing is the fact that Sacramento has no one on the perimeter that can stick with Klay coming around screens. In other words, he shouldn't be short on good looks at the basket tonight.

Monta Ellis - SG, at CLE ($3,800)

If you're desperate for a punt play in cash games or you're looking for upside on the cheap in tournament formats, Monta is your man. In the past two weeks, we've seen a resurgence in his aggressiveness, and the result has been an outpouring of points on the court that have translated into Monta exceeding his price implied total in four of his last four games. He's really taken control of the Pacers' second unit, and he's put up 10 shot attempts in each of Indiana's last two games. Further, the Cavs have a pretty weak defensive backcourt and the ones that are healthy enough to suit up tonight probably get bumped to the first unit. Monta has a matchup he can really take advantage of.

Also Consider: Russell Westbrook - PG, vs NYK ($12,400)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Andrew Wiggins - SF, at DEN ($7,900)

The biggest beneficiary of Zach LeVine's absence? That would be Mr Wiggins, who has seen his Usage rate - and fantasy point totals - skyrocket in the wake of LaVine's injury. Not only has Wiggins outperformed his implied value in each of his last four games, he's done it handily, by an average of nearly 10 points per night. His price has certainly climbed, but it's not unreasonable, and he's going to have plenty of opportunity to exploit a weak defense in the Nuggets. For the season, Wiggins has a high Usage rate of 26, and his projection tonight is a very favorable one, at nearly 31.

Blake Griffin - PF, vs ATL ($9,800)

In what is a surprisingly weak power forward pool - especially on a night with so many games - I don't really mind paying up for Blake. Why? Well, he presents me with a tournament score ceiling and he's been a beast over the past two weeks. Just in the Clippers' last six games, he's crushed value five times and has eclipsed 47 FanDuel points five times. Tonight, I like his matchup thanks to the soft Atlanta frontcourt and the fact that he represents the opportunity for a 50+ point outburst.

Also Consider:  Michael Beasley - SF, at BKN ($4,900)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Al Horford - C, vs PHI ($6,800)

With all the value picks I'm delivering, I should get a cut of everyone's winnings. Kidding, of course. Anyway, looking at Horford's recent production would - and should - leave someone hesitant to roster. That's understandable, seeing as his minutes have dipped a little and so has his production. Tonight, however, we get Horford at a value price and the opponent - the Sixers - couldn't be sweeter. They have an extremely thin front-court and it's one I envision Coach Brad Stevens to gameplan around, feeding Horford in the post early and often. There's extra value in playing Horford in tournament's as well, seeing as his recent production and this monster 14 game slate should keep his ownership percentage low.

Also Consider:  Steven Adams - C, vs NYK ($6,100)
