Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Welcome to the Sunday, September 15th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 15th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings

  • You didn’t know Miguel Sano like Grand Slams? DELICIOUS! Oh, 28HR too.
  • Jorge Polanco smooth swinging toward 22 long balls. Can I ask for more exit velo? (87.2mph avg)
  • Mike Clevinger spectacular in loss. No, really. 8IP, 2ER, 10K.
  • THUN-DAH! Eddie Rosario w/433ft bazooka fire (29).
  • If a cowhide were to want to escape the diamond prison, who would he call? I’d call Nelson Cruz. One way ticket. (37).
  • Oscar Mercado selling power and speed. Anyone buying?
  • Nobody move, Kris Bryant has reached 29 dingers. One more to the new "average."
  • Nico Hoerner has homered in two straight games. Hitcapade. You know, hitting escapade? Dud.
  • Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner is hitting two taters and you’re trying to steal bases? C’mon, man.
  • 40 homers from second base? Gleyber Torres makes it possible.
  • Everyone loses. Ozzie Albies & Victor Robles both caught red-handed.
  • Nick Markakis. There you are. .339AVG w/3HR & 17RBI last month.
  • You have to stay lean, Victor Reyes. You want a combo meal? Get the Italian sandwich from Subway. Yes, you can add Marinara sauce to it. .301AVG, 2HR, 6SB.
  • Trey Mancini. 32 is just a rest stop for you, I know. Ok, you keep going. I’ll rest.
  • Is Gabe Kapler still the Phillies manager? Jean Segura w/three SB in one month.
  • Eduardo Rodriguez w/12K; Aaron Nola w/9K. Both only allowed one run. Wins elusive.
  • Hyun-Jin Ryu and Jacob deGrom both throw scoreless frames. Nobody wins.
  • Mike Moustakas rocks the game w/34th long ball. More power at second base.
  • Tommy Edman was supposed to be just a speed guy(12). Now add eight round-trip tickets to it.
  • Harrison Bader keeps moving(10SB). 40%hard-hit rate. Oh, dream-weaver.
  • Would Zack Greinke have reached 16W in ARI this year? Who knows. Houston though.
  • Kyle Tucker has speed. 2SB today. Astros: “No, I don’t believe you.”
  • Alex Bregman sends out his 36th invitation for feedback.
  • Yordan Alvarez has crowd-pleasers galore. 25 in 276 at-bats.
  • Mike Fiers w/a question mark on his face, literally.
  • Only one homer in the month of SEP for Aristides Aquino. This is why you sell quickly in dynasty leagues.
  • Charlie Blackmon w/28HR and no speed. Catch him, he’s falling in 2020.
  • Wow, Manny Machado reaches 30HR w/.258AVG. Is that worth billions?
  • Mike Trout -less lineup looks…sad.
  • Well, I’ll give it to Mallex Smith. He’s got legs & he knows how to use them. 44SB.
  • Have a great Sunday. I'm sure your mind will be split between football, food, drinks, weather, politics, dogs, and maybe some baseball.
  • No Fear, Just Fantasy.
