Daily Fantasy NBA Lineup Picks For FanDuel (2/8/17) - DFS Basketball Advice

Rise, shine and read, my fellow Rotoballers - and welcome to another edition of NBA Wednesday daily fantasy competition. Stop me if you've heard me say this before, but we have a loaded slate. Twelve games are on the docket for this evening and there are plenty of juicy matchups to target.

Before I get into my player selections and analysis, let's take a gander at a few Vegas lines that could be helpful when making a lineup or two - particularly if you like to use stacking as a strategy. As of this writing, not every line has been set, but we have a whole handful of games I consider to have high projected point totals (I set the bar at an over/under of 210), starting with Raptors at Timberwolves (212), Cavs at Pacers (216), Lakers at Pistons (216.5), Clippers at Knicks (218.5), Nuggets at Hawks (221.5) and the Wizards at Nets (222). As for games with high totals AND tight spreads, the Cavs at Pacers and Clippers at Knicks both feature spreads of three points or less.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/8/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on FanDuel. Let's get to it, shall we?

FanDuel DFS Guards

John Wall - PG, at BKN ($10,500)

It's a steep price to pay, but Wall's recent play and this matchup warrant him consideration in both cash game and tournament formats tonight. In the Wizards last five games, Wall has exceeded his price implied value three times, in each exceeding 50 FanDuel points. For the season, he's maintained a rough average of more than 35 minutes on the court per night - which gives him an incredibly high floor - and he's made excellent use of that time, averaging 1.24 fantasy points per minute. The matchup tonight is particularly great because his opponent, the Nets, are abysmal on defense and play at a ridiculously fast pace, which means more possessions for Wall to operate with.

Dennis Schroder - PG, vs DEN ($6,200)

For the tournament lovers out there, I think you need to really consider rostering Schroder tonight as I think he'll be overlooked (see: under-owned) on such an enormous slate, and he has the upside to hit value and blow past it. Schroder's minutes haven't been as high as you'd like to see - which takes him out of cash game consideration for me - but the matchup tonight is a fantastic one. Of all the teams taking the floor, Schroder is facing the team with the worst defensive backourt, as they've allowed the greatest +/- to opposing point guards at more than six FanDuel points per night. On top of that, Schroder's season Usage rate of 27.3 is very attractive - even more so at this price point.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - SG, vs LAL ($5,300)

KCP has been a little up and down lately, but when I've called upon him as my top shooting guard value of the night, he has delivered. After a 50 FanDuel point outburst last week, KCP disappointed in his last two games from a point total perspective, but a deeper dive reveals they were just awful shooting nights. In other words, the opportunity is there. Caldwell-Pope is still a focal point of the offense and he'll have his number called. The nice thing about this matchup is that the Lakers like to push the ball, so Detroit will likely have 5-10 more possessions than usual tonight, and they're not exactly known for their defensive prowess in the backcourt.

Also Consider: Bradley Beal - SG, at BKN ($7,400)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Wilson Chandler - SF, at ATL ($6,000)

Chandler is taking advantage of his increased role in the Nuggets' offense and as a result, he has crushed value in two of his last three games. Tonight, he's in position to continue that trend as he's priced as a value and is projected to play more than 30 minutes with a Usage rate above 20. That's quite a high floor for someone in this price tier. I also like Chandler tonight due to his ability to get teammates involved and the fact that he's active on the glass. The numbers in those two respective categories won't blow you away, but they're enough to build a base off of - especially when he has a poor shooting night.

Blake Griffin - PF, at NYK ($9,400)

By any means necessary, stuff Griffin in all of your lineups tonight. He has been a beast over the past two weeks, with a few 48+ FanDuel point nights under his belt to show for it. For the season, he's averaging 1.2 fantasy points per minute - which is fantastic - and he also has a stellar matchup tonight against a soft Knicks front court - one that has no one on their roster with the ability to keep him from getting to the basket.

Also Consider: Matt Barnes - SF, vs BOS ($5,200)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Andre Drummond - C, vs LAL ($8,300)

Drummond has - almost quietly - crept back into contention for nightly consideration as the top tournament center. He has a handful of 50+ FanDuel point nights in his rear view mirror, and he's exceeded his price implied total in seven of his last 10 games. The common denominator in those 50+ point nights? Double digit shot opportunities! I like this matchup for him quite a bit tonight, as the Lakers literally have no one in their front court to keep him off the glass and from scoring, and they also like to push the ball, which will deliver more possessions to the Pistons than they're accustomed to. For the season, Drummond owns a Usage rate and PER just a tick over 21.

Also Consider: Marcin Gortat - C, at BKN ($6,900)
