We have an eight game slat to kick off the week, and it is Trade Deadline day. Yes, MLB trade deadline is here, so just be sure to check if any of you players get scratched last minute, and are headed off to another team. There are some clear pitching options at the top of the board, so you will need to find a bit of savings to fit them in your lineup. No weather concerns as of now.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/31/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider
Luis Severino, NYY vs DET (DK - $11,900, FD - $10,100)
Severino has been on fire lately, only allowing four earned runs over his last four starts. He is expensive, but he makes a great cash game play due to his consistency. Severino has put up seven or more stikeouts in four of his last six starts. Great numbers for the young ace, and is facing off against a Detroit team who is striking out 21.8% of the time vs right-handed pitching. Detroit's offense is very hit or miss lately, they had an explosive Sunday, but prior to that, they scored three or fewer runs in three of their last five games. Severino is in place for a big night, and viable in all formats.
Cole Hamels, TEX vs SEA (DK - $8,400, FD - $8,600)
Hamels certainly ins't the pitcher he once was, but he is in a good spot as a GPP play tonight. Hamels has five or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts, and is up against a Seattle team who strikes out 19% of the time vs left-handed pitching. If you look at his numbers over the past few games, you can see he is quite hit or miss. In his last five starts, he has three great outings, and two bad ones. He is volatile, there's no denying that, but if you embrace the risk he can make a good tournament play.
DFS Infielders to Consider
Russell Martin - C, TOR @ CWS (DK - $3,600, FD - $2,700)
Martin sometimes bats in the two hole for the Blue Jays, which is unusual for a catcher. His price on FanDuel is still too cheap, and if he is in that two hole, he is a must play. This season vs right-handed pitching, Martin has a 112 wRC+ and a .161 ISO. Martin is good in any format, since he has solid splits, and brings a good amount of salary relief.
Lucas Duda - 1B, TAM @ HOU (DK - $4,400, FD - $3,700)
Duda was traded to the Rays at the end of last week, and in his first three games with them, he has two home runs. Great first impression, for him and he looks to extend that hot streak going into a nice hitters park. Duda has a .391 wOBA and a .318 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching. Good for any format tonight.
Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs TAM (DK - $5,400, FD - $4,400)
Altuve saw his 19 game hitting streak come to an end on Saturday, but sure enough, he got a hit on Sunday and thus a new streak has started. This season vs right-handed pitchers, Altuve has a .427 wOBA and a .210 ISO. He is super expensive on both sites, so it will take some work to fit him into your lineup, but we all know what level of production he is capable of.
Rafael Devers - 3B, BOS vs CLE (DK - $2,700, FD - $3,300)
The newly called up Devers is making a bit of a name for himself in just his first five games. He has two home runs to show so far, and he brings a good amount of salary relief. He numbers are a bit inflated due to a low sample size, but he has a .394 wOBA and a .273 ISO vs RHP. He doesn't bat high in the order, so its a tough spot for cash games, but as a one off in GPPs, he is a nice option.
Didi Gregorius - SS, NYY vs DET (DK - $4,600, FD - $3,800)
The Yankees offense seems to be back on track after their slight down tick, and with Didi batting in the heart of the lineup, he is a great play tonight. This season vs right-handed pitching, he has a .374 wOBA and a .239 ISO. He also had four home runs last week, so the power is there, and at home in a great hitters park.
DFS Outfielders to Consider
Giancarlo Stanton - OF, MIA vs WAS (DK - $5,000, FD - $4,700)
Stanton had the day off on Sunday, so he should be set to return to the starting lineup tonight, and he couldn't be in a betters pot. He has a .416 wOBA and a .397 ISO this season vs left-handed pitching. His ISO is almost .400, which is higher than most players' wOBA. Crazy stats, and if you can afford to fit him in your lineup, don't pass him up.
Leury Garcia - OF, CWS vs TOR (DK - $2,700, FD - $2,700)
Garcia may see a bump to his spot in the batting order with Melky Cabrerea being traded, and you should jump on him while his price is still low. He has a .355 wOBA and a .208 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching. Depending on where he hits in the order, he should be an almost certain lock.
Nelson Cruz - OF, SEA @ TEX (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,600)
Cruz is a lefty masher, and he has the numbers to back it up. He has a .355 wOBA and a .155 ISO this season vs LHP. Cruz is a bit too cheap on DraftKings, and this game being at such a great hitters park, he is viable in all formats, and could be a bit of a sneaky stack with some other Mariners.
