Buy, Sell or Hold: Tim Hardaway Jr. and Myles Turner?

Another set of players have taken their fantasy owners for a spin on their hot'n'cold roller coaster. Another chance for selling a player above or buying him below his realistic price has therefore presented itself.

Who is the guy you should sell in a hurry if you can get decent value back? Whose owner might be thinking less of his slumping player and you might be able get him at a steep discount?

Read more about it in our Week 7 fantasy basketball buy low and sell high column right here at RotoBaller.

Buy Low, Sell High Advice for Week 7

Are You for Real, Tim Hardaway Jr.?

We knew that the Knicks were going to give Tim Hardaway Jr. room to grow and permission to shoot when they splashed out $71 million for four years of his services. But we didn't expect him to be this good!

After a colder start to the season, Hardaway has been ballin' lately with 21.6 points on 46.5% from the field and 90.0% from the line while hitting 2.6 three-pointers, grabbing 5.6 boards, handing out 5.0 assists, getting 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks and turning the ball over 2.1 times in 36 minutes per outing. He even double-doubled once in his last 7 games.  The last one of those was with Kristaps Porzingis on the sidelines with lower back tightness, and he should be back soon, but still...

This insane run has Hardaway ranked in the top-20 in most leagues. He's even #15 in my head-to-head Yahoo league which counts the nine regular categories plus double-doubles. Can Tim Jr. keep this going? Can he continue to shoot the lights out while contributing so heavily in all other categories?

That's highly doubtful. While Hardaway has found himself in the best position to perform here in New York then ever before in his career, he is just not that guy to fill up the stat sheet game after game. While he did score on 45.5% of his field goal attempts last year and is a career 80.6% free throw shooter, he never averaged over 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals or 0.2 blocks. And those are all last season's career highs. He did manage them in just 27 minutes a game back then in Atlanta, so an increase is quite possible. But not this big a leap.

I could see Hardaway stick around the top-50 in a good scenario for him, but if you can get a good deal on him while he is hot, I would advise you to do so. Any top-30 player would do it for me. I would gladly swap Tim Hardaway Jr. for the likes of C.J. McCollumKemba Walker or our Buy low target for this week Myles Turner. Your decision should, of course, be based on your league scoring and team build.

Baller Move: Sell high

Time to Panic on Myles Turner?

First of all, I have to say, I love Myles! I picked him with my #13 pick in one of my dynasty leagues and was ecstatic that he was available there. He has such a fantasy friendly game. He's a great shooter, both from the field and the line, he's a great rebounder, an elite shot-blocker and should be back to picking pockets any day now. He even hits a three almost every game and contributes an assist or two, which is quite helpful from the power forward and center spot. I honestly believe that he can be a top-10 fantasy asset quite soon. With Indiana going into rebuild mode and Paul George and Jeff Teague out of town, maybe even by the end of this season.

But things have not gone Turner's way so far this year. He suffered a concussion after having played 34 minutes in his first game. It kept him out of seven games and he hasn't been able to get back to 100% yet. He had some decent games, but not on a level we all know he can reach. He has been maintaining a top-40 rank, with his blocks salvaging his value, but even they weren't enough in the last week. His 11.3 PTS with 1.0 3PM on 48.1 FG% and 83.3 FT%, 7.0 REB, 1.0 AST, 1.3 BLK, 1.7 TO and no STL in 29 minutes per game in his three games in that period don't even crack the top-100. And one of those games was even with Victor Oladipo being out and Myles scoring 19 points on 7-of-9 from the field in that one.

Now Turner is clearly under performing and if you agree with me that he will Turn(er) it around sooner rather than latter, you would be wise to float his owner some offers. I would roll the dice with any player who I believe will finish outside the top-25, but has decent value at the moment. Nikola Vucevic, Jeff Teague and LaMarcus Aldridge are all guys I would easily swap for the upside of Myles Turner.

Baller Move: Hold or buy low
