ANALYSIS: Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns against the Texans on Sunday and is quickly becoming a valuable fantasy asset. Bortles has seven touchdown passes and no interceptions over the last three games, twice throwing for 300 or more yards, and has scored multiple touchdowns in four consecutive games. He is now up to 3147 yards for the season and has 19 touchdowns and just eight interceptions in 2017.

Prior to these last three games, Bortles was under 200 yards passing in two consecutive games, but was over 250 yards passing in the three games prior to that and has at least one touchdown in 13 of the 14 games this season. While his recent statistics are very good (he is the first Jaguars quarterback to throw for multiple touchdowns without an interception for three consecutive games), fantasy owners do need to realize that he only had two multi-touchdown games prior to the last three games. Even though Bortles does not have much of a track record, his 61% completion percentage is a career high and his 14 turnovers are down from 22 last season.

As for scheduling, Bortles will face a 49ers team that allows the third-most points to fantasy QB. This is a perfect reason to scoop up Bortles if you are dealing with QB troubles or if you missed out on Nick Foles on the waiver wire last week. It is a risky proposition to start Bortles as a QB1 in championship week, but he is an extremely high QB2 for Week 16 and could be started in deeper leagues.
