ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has made a mark as a receiving back this season. Ekeler has caught at least two passes in each of the last four games, catching for at least 50 yards twice in the last four games as well. He has had six or more carries in three of the last four games at well, scoring a touchdown against the Bills in Week 11.

Melvin Gordon is the starter in Los Angeles and Ekeler is just a change of pace back; once fantasy owners realize that they can correctly evaluate Ekeler. Even though Gordon is valuable, he has only averaged 3.3 yards per carry over the last four games. Gordon does have 12 catches over that time period, but Ekeler's abilities as a change of pace back have made him a fantasy asset.

Ekeler can have an immediate impact this week, as the Redskins have the fifth-worst defense against RB. A middle of the road matchup with the Chiefs follow for the Chargers, putting Ekeler in a place to be a huge addition for the playoff run. Gordon is still the best running back to own for the Chargers, but Ekeler has found a way to cash in on the opportunities that he has garnered, making him a good flex play this week.
