BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 19% of Yahoo Leagues

ANALYSIS: Oakland Athletics second baseman Jed Lowrie has been on fire over the last seven days, posting a .389 batting average and 10 RBI, making him a great addition for fantasy owners. Lowrie had a grand slam on September 19, part of a five-RBI game, and has hits in nine of his last 10 games, including two three-hit games. He is hitting .361 this month, clubbing 10 extra-base hits, scoring 14 runs, and driving in 16, adding 14 walks as well to help those in OBP leagues. Lowrie now has 45 doubles this season and his .362 OBP this season is a career-high, as is his .819 OPS and .457 slugging percentage. While his 34.9% hard hit ball rate is strong, it is not a career-best like his 12.4% soft hit ball rate or his 26.6% line drive rate. These are good reasons for Lowrie's breakout, although his contact rate of 83.5% is below his career average of 84.7%.

Lowrie's hot streak has put him on the fantasy radar, but he has been solid throughout the 2017 season and the switch hitter has found a way to be an instrumental part of the Athletics' lineup. He has struggled a bit against left-handed pitchers this season (.744 OPS as a right handed batter), but middle infielders with a .800 OPS are very popular. Lowrie may not have multi-positional as he has had in the past, but his strong portfolio at an offensively weak position makes him a good addition for the last week of the fantasy season.
