BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has been a fantasy star over the past few years. The veteran is the RB41 for the season, averaging 10 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, he has struggled with injuries and consistent production in 2023.
Jones has missed six games this year because of hamstring and knee injuries. He also appeared on the injury report this week with a finger injury. Despite being limited in practice earlier in the week, the running back is off the injury report and ready to play in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Last week, the veteran had arguably his best fantasy performance since Week 1. He had 21 rushing attempts for 127 yards and 14 fantasy points in the win over the Carolina Panthers. However, Jones had an excellent fantasy matchup last week. He won’t be as lucky today.
The Vikings have shut down opposing running backs this season, giving up 17 fantasy points per game, the 10th-fewest in the NFL. They struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions – arguably the top two rushing attacks in the NFL. Minnesota has surrendered only 14.4 fantasy points per game to running backs in their other 13 games this year.
While the RotoBaller rankings view Jones as a plug-and-play RB2, I am skeptical he will produce top-24 production in Week 17.
