Commanders Defense Not a Recommended Option in Week 9
The Washington Commanders' defense has struggled of late as they continue to deal with multiple injuries to key players. They've been decimated on the defensive line, especially, with top edge rushers Dornance Armstrong (knee) and Deatrich Wise (quadriceps) both lost for the season. Washington has gotten torched by the Cowboys and Chiefs over the past two weeks, combining for 76 points and 841 total yards. The secondary is consistently not on the same page, and now the NFL's most lethal duo in Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba comes to town. Darnold leads the league in yards per attempt (9.1) and Smith-Njigba leads the league in receiving yards (819). Dan Quinn's defenses have struggled to defend the Kyle Shanahan-style offenses, which is what Seattle's offense has been this season under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Fantasy managers are likely better off looking elsewhere for a defense in Week 9.
