Should I pickup Tyler Allgeier or Kendre Miller as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
The waiver period for most fantasy leagues has passed, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still try to add free agent pickups or make waiver claims if needed for certain players ahead of Week 7.
Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier and New Orleans Saints RB Kendre Miller are two backup running backs with reasonable upside cases that make them worth considering in fantasy leagues.
While neither has had an explosive breakout game this year, both clearly have contingent upside, since they're their teams' RB2s, and have shown flashes of potential. So, should you grab either off waivers or as free agents? Let's dive in.

Tyler Allgeier Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Allgeier rushed 10 times for 32 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for six yards in his team's upset win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 7. While he doesn't have a ton of standalone value, as he's playing behind one of the best RBs in the league in Bijan Robinson, it's clear his contingent upside is huge.
The Falcons have one of the NFL's better offensive lines, and in Allgeier's rookie season in 2022, the year before Robinson was drafted, he rushed 210 times for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns, averaging nearly five yards per carry. The role he would take over in the event of a Robinson injury is massive.

Through five contests this year, he's scored three touchdowns. He's the RB41 overall in PPR leagues, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't roster him. Were Robinson to go down, Allgeier would immediately be in the conversation for a low-end RB1.
He'd be a must-start. If you have a decent bench and have Robinson, you should probably stash Allgeier as injury insurance. That way, you can virtually guarantee some level of RB1 production as long as both of them don't get injured.
Kendre Miller Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Miller is currently backing up Saints RB1 Alvin Kamara. Like Allgeier, Miller doesn't do much pass-catching work -- that mostly goes to Kamara. That, of course, limits Miller's upside pretty heftily in PPR leagues. Miller had eight carries for just 21 rush yards and one catch for 11 yards in Week 6.
That doesn't mean he's totally cooked, though. The Saints played the New England Patriots, who have arguably the best run defense in all of football. They've shut down plenty of opposing running backs this year. The Chicago Bears, who New Orleans will face in Week 7, offer a much easier matchup.

Through six games, Miller actually leads the NFL in missed tackles forced per rush. He's played very well through contact and is showing great contact balance and play strength. His rushing average might not be impressive, but he handles a lot of difficult in-between-the-tackles running.
He's worth a bench stash, and if you have Kamara on your team, I highly suggest you pick up Miller as a handcuff. Depending on your league size, you should grab him and stow him -- in leagues with 12 or more teams, he should definitely be rostered.
Should I Pickup Tyler Allgeier or Kendre Miller For Fantasy Football?
Allgeier is the better bet for massive upside in the case of Robinson getting hurt, while Miller probably has less contingent upside. Robinson isn't likely to lose much work to Allgeier as the season wears on, but Kamara, at 30 years old, is very likely declining athletically.
Miller establishing himself as the RB1B by the end of the season isn't a totally far-fetched idea, so if you're not interested in holding a pure handcuff on your bench, Miller is probably the better bet. But if you are, Allgeier should be the one you grab.
However, in leagues with 12 or more teams, both players should be heavily rostered if you have at least six bench spots. It's incredibly difficult to find good running backs this far into the season, and the lottery ticket handcuff sometimes provides massive, league-altering value when starting RBs go down.
