Week 2 MLB Starting Pitcher Depth Charts for Fantasy Baseball
Entering into this week, I think it is safe to say that there have been some surprises when it comes to starting pitching around the league, even considering the small sample size of just one or two starts.
Kenta Maeda and Ross Stripling have certainly made things very interesting in Los Angeles, especially considering the cavalcade of veterans the Dodgers have waiting in the rotation reserves. Johnny Cueto has mildly struggled in San Francisco, while Zack Greinke got roughed up in Arizona and Adam Wainwright looks downright awful. The young rotation of the Cincinnati Reds is showing more poise than was certainly expected.
However, for now, we are in a sort of "Starting Rotation Purgatory". It is too early to panic on the pitchers you drafted who have under performed, and it is too early to proclaim that Ross Stripling, Brandon Finnegan, or Kenta Maeda will be Cy Young candidates. It is also true that soon, it may be too late to dump the struggling aces off for a high price or to pick up an emerging superstar. So familiarize yourself with the depth charts for every major league rotation...but don't get too comfortable, the carousel has already started spinning.

Depth Chart Definitions:
- Fantasy Aces - Pitchers to anchor a rotation, a #1 or #2 fantasy starter
- Solid Options - The meat of your rotation, a #3 - #5 type fantasy starter
- Deeper Options / Streamers - All pitchers with value, but depending on your league size these are bottom rotation types or players worth streaming
- Ignore - Unless you're in NL / AL only leagues, you shoudn't really touch these guys
- Watch List - Your list of prospects or injured pitchers who might soon hold value
