DraftKings DFS – NBA Fantasy Basketball Advice & Value Picks (4/15/15)

Premium DFS Lineup Tools

RotoBaller's Premium NBA DFS Tools help you win your head-to-heads and GPPs. With a 1-Day Free Trial of our NBA DFS Premium Pass, you can even test drive these DFS tools for free for 24 hours:

  • Player vs. Player Comparison: Compare up to five players' recent FanDuel fantasy points to find the highest scoring players for your lineups.
  • Player vs. Team Comparison: Compare up to five players' FanDuel points vs. any team to find players with the best matchups for your lineups.

Both of these tools will show you players' points per game and points per minute over any custom date range. This information can help you gain an edge with your NBA DFS lineups.

Worth the DraftKings Investment

Russell Westbrook (OKC, G) - $12,000

Although he is by far the most expensive player on the slate, it is a virtual lock that Westbrook will be the highest owned player. The Thunder need a win and a loss by the Pelicans to make the playoffs which means an absurdly high usage rate. After avoiding suspension last game, Westbrook put up 64.25 fantasy points which would get him to 5x value tonight. That is after a game of 80.75 points against Indiana. Tonight he faces a Minnesota team that is fighting to get the worst record in the NBA, so Westbrook should have his way with them. Even if he does not get above 40 minutes, Westbrook should be the highest scoring player on the slate, and with so many unknowns that is something that will be hard to avoid.

Tim Duncan (SA, F) - $6,700

If you were to tell most fantasy players that a Spurs forward has gone over 31 fantasy points in four straight games and is coming off of back-to-back games of 49.5 and 52.5, they would not be surprised. However, most everyone would make the assumption that is Kawhi Leonard’s stat line and not Tim Duncan’s. The veteran forward has turned his game up at the right time, as the Spurs has made a charge to get to the number two seed. If the Spurs win tonight they are locked into the two seed, whereas a loss could send them tumbling to the sixth seed. That means Duncan is likely to see another game of at least 26 minutes, which he has in his last three games. A match-up with Anthony Davis and the stigma that San Antonio rests players will keep his ownership numbers far too low for a player who could hit upwards of 8x value tonight.

Hassan Whiteside (MIA, C) - $7,500

It certainly appears that the Whiteside we saw halfway through the season is back from a hand injury. He is coming off of back-to-back 50 point fantasy games and three game totals of 59 points, 47 rebounds and 12 blocks. With Miami not having anything to play for, they could well rest many of their older players which would give Whiteside a usage bump against a Sixers team likely to be without their top big man Nerlens Noel. In what will be a pace-up game for Miami, Whiteside has a great shot at ending the season with four straight double-doubles and is always a threat to block five or more shots in a night.

DraftKings Sleepers & Value Picks

Allen Crabbe (POR, G) - $3,000

No team has been hit harder recently with injuries than have the Trailblazers. First the team lost Wes Matthews, then Aaron Afflalo, and most recently Nicolas Batum to a leg injury. With a playoff spot locked up, they will not push any of their wing players into the lineup tonight which opens a huge hole at both shooting guard and small forward. Enter Crabbe who has played a combined 65 minutes in the last two games and put up a respectable 31.25 fantasy points. Although that is just about a half a fantasy point per minute, that could still be enough to pay off his minimum salary tonight. Rostering a minimum salary player like Crabbe can allow you to play the likes of both Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis on the final night of the regular season.

Jabari Brown (LAL, G) - $4,200

Speaking of injuries, as if the Lakers situation could not get any worse, Jordan Clarkson came up a bit lame last game. He is considered questionable tonight but seems like he may play. Even if he does play he will be limited, which means his former Missouri teammate Brown is in line for another 40 minutes. Brown has shot 12 or more times each of the past four games and scored over 24 fantasy points in three straight. If you are looking for value, the Lakers and Kings game should provide plenty, as each team is down to about seven healthy players. Anyone you want to roster this game is in play, as it should be a high-scoring game with a ton of low priced options.
