We have switched things up a little bit in our Daily League column. Instead of giving you an exact lineup, we'll be sharing top positional plays with quick analysis about why we like these guys.  There is no set budget for these picks, so they may be star-studded... the idea here is to give you some of the best players that are playing at each position.

Pitchers to Target:

Yovani-GallardoYovani Gallardo ($7,000) - Picked up a win in his last start and faces an Oakland lineup that hasn't hit him well at all.

Clayton Kershaw ($9,300) - He is the obvious play if you can afford him. With Puigsanity entering LA, the Dodgers have life and should put up plenty of runs for Kershaw.

Freddy Garcia ($5,400) - VALUE PLAY - How this guy is still around is beyond me, but he has been incredibly effective in his career against the hitters for Houston. There's potential here for 10+ fantasy points at a bargain price.

Hitters to Target:

Torii Hunter on June 2, 2013Torii Hunter ($3,400) - Hunter is 6-for-9 in his career against opposing righty Alex Cobb. He's also reached base safely in his last 12 games.

Joe Mauer ($4,200) - He's riding a 6-game hitting streak and is 6-for-13 with 2 HR in his career against Jeremy Guthrie.

David Freese ($3,300) and Matt Carpenter ($3,700) - Both hitters are riding 10+ game hit streaks into today's matchup, and they're a combined 3-for-3 against struggling lefty Wade Miley.

As always, remember to check your daily lineups before they lock and make sure you are doing your own research, too, for optimal performance! The most successful daily leaguers are grinders who are constantly tweaking their lineups as the day goes on and fantasy news gets released. Good luck today, RotoBallers!
